This church is straight-up blessed to have this pastor go to such a length and depth to explain Scripture, it's context, and constantly link it to Jesus. This guy is great and I love this sermon series.

There are a few men I wish God would keep alive and strong for well over a hundred years, Pastor Skip is top among them. A Bible teacher per excellence. It's the way he manages to take his teachings from ancient times, connect all the historical dots and make it timely for us to apply. Being a lover of history, I absolutely love all the background details and I am always left wanting more at the end of the sermon. God bless you Pastor Skip, you're a tremendous blessing.

Our Sunday school class / teacher are going through the Bible one book, one chapter, one verse at a time! We just got into Exodus and we are studying the 400 years, first, second, and third! So our teacher ask us “class” to study certain topics, I got the 2nd 400 years or the silent years! When we talk about our subjects in class our teacher “a lot like Skip” ask for scripture to back up our points! Skip gives out the scripture / verses. I have been listening to Skip all through Genesis and will CONTINUE to listen to his studies as part of my research / learning of the Bible! There are days I CANNOT get enough of the Bible and Skip! He for sure has helped me to understand things from the Bible that I had never heard before!

I know about the Children of Israel being in Egypt 400 years before the Exodus, and I know about the 400 silent years, but what are the "third" 400 silent years you mention?

We did this in our Bible study group several years ago and it was one of my favourite studies. Silent years to the Hebrews perhaps , but goodness God was busy during that time setting the scene for Yeshua's arrival. That is so exciting! So my blank pages are filled in!

Around June of the last year I was looking for some teaching about the interistentamental period to get more knowledge for my Theology and Bible course and I found this teaching. Then I decided to watch all the teachings from the first one. And now I am here watching this one again. I am excited to arrive to the new testament and see the end in revelation. To find yours teachings have been one of the best things that I found the last year. Thank you a lot of. You have a lot of passion in your teachings. God bless you and your family.

I'm preparing to teach a brief overview of the OT to a good Christian friend and wanted to add to the mix the 'blank pages' you mention in your lecture/sermon. I settled on a particular speaker on KZbin (not you) no offense...lol. and was trying to grasp the speakers style and was having some difficulty. Without warning and without touching my phone...in a flash...there you are starting your sermon...I found it odd but thought..what the hey..let's give this guy a chance. Divine intervention...for sure!!! God knows my heart and knows my passion for teaching and my passion for bringing the Bible ALIVE when teaching. Thank you Jesus for this man and his ability to teach/preach. I'll share the video with my friend!! Fantastic speaker. I

Julia, thank you so much for sharing part of your story. We’re so glad that you are taking the extra time to study God’s Word, search the Scripture, look into different teachers, preachers, and resources as well as investing into people with Christ-like love! May the Lord continue to grow you in every step you take with Him.

Great message. I am prepping to teach high school NT studies and working on creating an itinerary. I wanted to touch upon this time period, but can't devote a ton of time to it. Your sermon here does a terrific job of distilling this time period and it's importance down into under one hour. Thanks for sharing.

I'm happy that I didn't scroll it down & now I will surely share this with my friends.

What prophets were alive during this period?
@JJFrance11 ай бұрын
Great teaching but leaves some questions...Daniel is told more than once that these prophecies are concerning "the time of the end". As well, Jesus prophecies about the abomination of desolation and the apostles prophecy about the antichrist so seems like this might be a dual fulfillment prophecy.

At 34:40, I think he means BC instead of AD, referring to the year that the Romans first took over Jerusalem.

I cannot stop going through Skip's messages. I have been so blessed by doing this. However, today I think there was a mistake. When Skip speaks of a Roman general forming the Decapolis he says it happened after this General came in to Israel/Judah around 63 A.D., and then speaks of Jesus going through the Decapolis. Which is not possible, as Jesus was most likely crucified in 32 or 33 A.D. and would not have been on the earth in 63 A.D. Just making an observation.

You have to wonder why as Christians we do not routinely read Septuagint translations of the Old Testament rather than an English translation of a later Hebrew text.

In the final prayer at the end, he tells everyone in the congregation to bow their heads and close their eyes at least twice. But in a previous sermon, he said, "Did you know the Bible says nothing about bowing your head and closing your eyes when you pray?" Then why does he expect people to do it after admitting that it's not Biblical?

I have to disagree that God did not talk or have any messages, what I think is those who had found the scrolls that document the Bible are still hiding them in a silent place, most likely the Vatican, and or they are yet discovered. Just my gut feeling, god bless, keep up the great work🙏🏼♥️
@hammerandnail77264 жыл бұрын
I wonder of such things as well. Maybe things just weren't recorded or like you said writings have yet to be found. The Vatican would not surprise me s bit if they had them.
