Is [4,4] and interval? My basic understanding of an interval is that it's just stuff between two points or values. So I don't get how something like [1,2]intersection[2,3] is an interval? Isn't that just the set {2}?

What do you do when you have a number that is the same as the end point for your interval? like, 40 - 50 but there is a 50, and your next interval is 50 - 60? Do you include them both? or just the one on the left or right?

No. Cartesian coordinates are represented by (x, y) Plot them on graph and they're obviously different. -3 comes first on the no. line before 2 so the correct way of writing is [-3,2]. Use the number line to understand.
