This was an awesome breakdown. A practical guide to a simple set up, also the casual nature just adds to the texture of the video

@@TylerEdwards why not shoot all red besides maybe not having budget for a second red body? How well does the BM cut with red? I’m looking for a b cam for my Komodo og and I’m torn between another Komodo OG or something else like a c70/c80. Thanks

I'm about to buy a new camera. I'm debating between the kx and pyxis 6k. Any chance you could make a 6k full frame vs komodo x video? I think a lot of people would like to see the difference in image quality. Ty!

I’m waiting for a Pyxis to make that video but hoping to do so whenever it ships

The physical location itself looks like it had a lot of really interesting angles and background opportunities. Might have made for an interesting pivot from the flatter faux brick. Always nice to see these types of thoughtful breakdowns though. Cheers.
@TylerEdwards7 ай бұрын
The location was awesome, but it was the visitors center so it was just rows and rows of visitors guides and nothing fit the vibe for the intended deliverable.

Amazed at how much the Cinema 6K matches the KX

Thanks so much for this! What mostly caught my eye was your lighting and sound capture setup. I'm currently in the process of building out my kit and shopping around for items for sound recording. Already have a boom mic in mind (DPA 2017) but any budget suggestions for an audio recorder for an interview style setup like this? I have a Sony A7SIII btw. Thanks!
@TylerEdwards7 ай бұрын
Thanks! For something like this, a Zoom F3 could be utilized. 32-bit float is super helpful. That said, I would save up if you can and get something like the sound devices mix pre 3-ii at a minimum. It'll outlast all of your camera systems haha

Have you tried clamping grip arms to the bottom of the backdrop? They provide weight but also sturdiness so it may not have moved as much.
@TylerEdwards7 ай бұрын
Nah it wouldn’t have helped in this case. I had few sandbags at the bottom and it only helped a little. Oh well haha
@JulioBHJ7 ай бұрын
@@TylerEdwards Dang, so next time better opt for a collapsible frame to put the backdrop into. 😁
@TylerEdwards7 ай бұрын

Yo, that audio sounds great, and congratulations on the lights-great job! Yeah, I noticed that the 6K FF matches pretty well the KX and the Komodo 6K. The colors are very different from the 6K Pro. Cheers, brother
@TylerEdwards7 ай бұрын
Thanks! Crazy that I didn’t do ANY eq or effects-just voice isolation in resolve 🤯Ya the last time I matched a red and blackmagic was the og Komodo and pocket 6K pro and I found it to be much more of a challenge. This project had so many different wardrobes and they’re all really quick and easy to match which is awesome.

Thanks for the feedback! I’m not ready ti sell my KX. It’s just so good and gets rented out enough where it makes sense to hang on to it for now. I also just love it haha. But blackmagic is so good and can’t wait for Pyxis!!
