My wife and I live in Virginia USA 🇺🇸. Should we ship our furniture our should we sell and start over? Is there a duty tax for furniture??
@relocatewithbeth3 жыл бұрын
Hi Keith and Cindy, thank you for watching! Shipping can be costly and time consuming. Additionally majority of rental properties here rent fully furnished. Finding an unfurnished rental can be challenging. I would recommend either selling (if you are 100% Panama is a long term option for you) or placing in storage while you come down here for awhile to get a feel for which route real estate wise you wish to go. If you need help with your real estate needs, let me know!

Thanks for this video! We are planning to move to Panama and we're curious about buying a car there or shipping ours over. This guy seems extremely knowledgeable and his info aligns with what I've read online.

It's my understanding that with the pensioner visa, you pay neither the tax or the import duty - is that true? Also, is there no 'car scene' in Panama? I would think that a car enthusiast from the U.S. would rather import his/her ride than buy a clown car to drive until the end.

Thanks for watching- unique KZbin handle lol! As a pensionado visa holder, you are entitled to a 100% duty exemption on the importation or purchase of a vehicle every 2 years. In terms of a ´car scene´ some people do bring down their prized possessions from the US but most do not. Driving can be a chore down here at times and everyone I know has dings all over their vehicles. The most economical route would be to purchase a used car down here (I recommend Toyota, Honda or Hyundai). Now if someone is a car enthusiast or their vehicle is incredibly special to them for whatever reason, then they may need to bring it down.

You should fix your sound.

Thanks for watching Alex..agreed and many have let me know. Sorry about that, in this particular video we did have audio issues and I did my best to fix it. Only true fix is rescheduling the interview as we have discussed. Take care!

Hard to watch because the audio is really bad. Recommend you mic up both people and don't depend on the camera mic.

Thank you for watching and your feedback! Yes, the audio is not that great although we were miced. Rob and I will do our best to redo with more clear audio. Take care!

@relocatewithbeth3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I believe it is the same as everyone, it's just the 7% sales tax.

@@relocatewithbeth Is that for just new? Or, both new and used?

Is there a video on getting your driver license?

importers must get a big discount on cars , otherwise the market would reflect the $10k base price of importing a car....

Like in any country, there is a set amount of cars, let say "Made In Japan" that can enter the country with a set tax rate. When you import one, it is like importing one OVER the current limit the manufacturers have. It happened to me when I brought my Lexus back to Canada I bought when living in Texas. For Canada Customs, I was importing a Made In Japan car in the country over the limit set by the Government with the Japanese... so I got an extra tax on it... That is what it seems to me.

I think this would be an interesting topic, as everyone relocating to Panama needs transportation-unfortunately I cannot hear the guy. Maybe you could leave his name and contact information or re do this video with proper audio. Thank you.I noticed there sonly one other comment and this I bet is due to the fact no one can understand what you are saying the volume levels are too low.
