Please don't enable this man's attempts at rehabilitating his public image. All of the abuse he's describing was happening after his wife and Hildebrant told him to move out of the family home, which he agreed to do in an effort to save his relationship with his now ex wife. If he'd made a serious attempt to visit them instead of prioritizing his marriage over them he could have put a stop to it.

Yes, the loopholes in the laws need to be changed at all levels. However, parents have the highest level of responsibility in caring for and protecting their children. The sad part is when both of your family is involved in the abuse? It takes a maverick to move a legal mountain. Why I hold no credit for any of Ruby's relatives or Kevin's. Family does this I know. But had they better supported Shari's attempts? They could have had those children removed before this got so bad. Shari turned to LE when her father rejected her and her warnings. Parents created these boundaries preventing LE to protect these children. It does beg the question and this will come out. Did CPS send notices to the family? Did they try to contact Kevin when they couldn't get ahold of Ruby? This is going to be a mess in court. LE, CPS are going to point fingers right back at him. Where were you, when your children were left home for days alone? Your elsest daughter could not turn to you, their father. Never forget, when officers, left crying from seeing a child near death, his bones showing thru torn skin they were in tears. His response? What will happen to my wife? She tortured your children. My first reaction would be that rotten loser. Please tell me she will punished for this. The man still will not face who Ruby really was. Still living life in his head because his heart is stone.

I think it's wonderful to want to make changes within our CPS system and advocating against abuse. However, this is still the man who agreed to sending his son to a reform camp, and made said child sleep on a bean bag chair, who attempted to have his daughter arrested for "stealing" devices that could potentially contain evidence that would expose abuses from both parents, and also told Ruby in those recorded jailhouse calls that'd he'd "help her in anyway he can". I don't believe someone can make such a rapid turn around in such a short amount of time - it's not true for Ruby, It's not true for Jody, and its not true for Kevin. He was present during a significant portion of horrific treatment of all his children long before JH. He's defended Ruby's past transgressions. And I wholeheartedly believe that he should face his own legal ramifications for his negligence and for not stepping into help those kids before the separation. If he wants to change the system, it starts with acknowledging his own shortcomings as a father, getting the kids the real help they need, and earning thier trust back.
