Um. Well. I cleaned my parents' friend's house a couple times when I was growing up. Dusting and mopping the floor, mostly. Had a lovely convo during and after, borrowed books, learned a lot from a very cultured woman, and definitely didn't feel lent out. It's pretty normal to ask your children to do favors or do them yourself for others, especially when say one of them just started walking after ankle surgery and they have company coming in from out of country that night (allegedly although they corroborated that independently). Doing favors or asking for favors isn't inherently evil. The lack of emotional responses these two had to what they were being told is. Pam was completely unsurprised about the abuse allegations. And the casual way that he lied about calling Greg? I was totally confused at how many Gregs this guy knew when all of a sudden a window-guy Greg showed up minutes after he called his attorney Greg. I'm not saying these two are saints - something is definitely off about them - and I am FAR from defending Ruby or Jody, but in general and in a HEALTHY way encouraging your children to help others fosters empathy in them. Getting money for a task isn't always the best reward.

This is so triggering! Raised LDS, severely abused, taught that law/ police were bad. We were "pimped out" for free labor for babysitting, yard work, house work, put in terrible situations- all for the "glory and good image of my parents". When abuse (S, E, P) was discovered, no one came to help us. We were told the bishop knew, and that was enough. I hid their lies and abuse for too long! It took my years as an adult and therapy to finally fight. And now that i have repeatedly reported mine, siblings, and even current ongoing abuse nothing will be done. (With ample proof and documentation) The "church" has say and power over all of it. They are enmeshed in the law enforcement and CPS/DCFS. It is disgusting to watch this man act so entitled with no concern about the kids. I would guess that the older girls were being forced to work for these people, and others- just like R and E at Jodie's and the planned ranch in Arizona. There is too much to say or write. This is a huge issue, especially within "The LDS Church".

My whole problem with this whole situation is a no one really ever spoke to those girls and be when they were told they had to go and to go get their stuff The DCF worker said we're going to put your bag in the trunk and then the other worker proceeded to go through all the girls belongings. They might be minors but they still deserve a little respect and empathy for the situation that they're going through. They're obviously teenagers and you mean to tell me that these adults could not tell them we have to check your bag. It's one thing they're going through the situation that they're in but then it's another thing that these people that are supposed to protect them turn around and violate them. I pray for the children don't know the outcome of the story if it is true that the parents were abusive to the younger siblings than they deserve to be dealt with accordingly. I just pray in the end that the children are okay, someone made a comment about the poor girl not answering if she had shoes or what school she went to. I don't know if you've ever dealt with DCF where ever had family issues. It wasn't that they were afraid to speak they obviously have dealt with DCF at some point in the past because most children who have will not sit there and talk to DCF because there's a saying destroyers of children and families. Not all DCF cases are warranted obviously this one is. But you can talk to former DCF social workers and they will tell you they lie, they bully and they do whatever they need to do to get the outcome they want. That's why there's always such a large turnover in that department. For these kids I hope that the workers they have are really there to help them and not just put them in further harm!

The rec center said A left with Pam early for a family emergency. Bogus. Ruby trying to hide. Ruby told Pam to pick up the other kid at ACE. So she did. The police didn’t know a child was picked up at another location. Just that not at Jodi’s and not at their home. The reason Pam didn’t take the kids home or to their mom was to hide them. The reason she got her before he shift ended yet had time for ice cream stop first was cause she was told to get away from places she would be found. They would not expect her at Pam’s or ice cream place. They would expect the girls home or at work. Ruby left the kids to leave the country alone why on earth would a 15 and 16 year old not be okay in the house for a time? She didn’t drop the girls at where there mom was. Or home. Or Kevin’s. Or a relative. And she said she would bring them home later. She really had no other answer to how long they would be at her house. So why not just drop them off after collecting them without the floor scrubbing and ice cream? Weird isn’t it. The reason she was not charged is she didn’t obstruct the police from taking them into foster care and she did not harm the two little ones at the center of the initial incident.

What made it worse for me was that I was disabled. But they had me carrying 20×4 of wood along with my 3 brothers. My mom often told me that the kids aren't calling me crippled names because I was crippled but because I was fat and ugly. When I had seizures my mom gave my brothers permission to hit me, saying I was faking it. She also told them to call me fat names as well. She said no one would need, want, or love me. I was also molested by my uncle (4 years old), older brother (starting at 9 years old until i was 14), and step dad(when I was 12 1/2 years old. I fell for these kids.

We lived in the home with my moms friend who knew that my mom was abusing me and starving me I was isolated and not allowed around my siblings . I was beaten, choked, slammed up against the wall, not able to eat and one day my mom gaslit me and made me think I stole a piece of candy and hid the wrapper until I believed I did, my mother told me if I didn’t find the rapper- she would throw me outside of a two story window or put me in the dumpster. I was at the top of the stairs crying and I asked my mom’s friend while she was walking down the stairs “ can you help me?” And I’ll never forget and she turned around and told me “ I can’t” and I never felt so hopeless as a child in my life . I don’t understand till this day why my mom did these things to me and when I grew up and got my reports and my moms friend lied for her and said she knew nothing when all along she heard the many screams and cries and bangs coming from my abuse and partook in it.
