@@NorbyatManeuversyou know they were friends right? Ali wanted Chuck to call him the N word but Chuck refused. Chuck Wepner had been in the marines and had served with black men. He had black friends, and black sparring partners. He refused to make it a racial issue. Ali respected Chuck for this. They would eat at dinners together and remain good friends and remain in touch. Wepner was devastated to see Ali pass away. “I really thought Ali could beat this Parkinsons thing because he was the greatest.” Chuck had nothing but admiration and respect for Ali. “By the 12th round he had both my eyes swollen shut and my nose broken and he was still dancing circles around me. @@itubecollection1623 I got a lot of respect for Joe Frazier after seeing a few of these rather than hearing it. Sadly that day I also lost some appreciation for Ali, a childhood hero of mine. Joe Frazier understood that they were playing them, and saw the smiles and sneers as they had Ali insult him. When you just hear the audio, you think Joe Frazier is an ass. But when you see them both on stage, and you see the sneering face of the host, and that they put them next to each other (with nobody in the middle to stop either).... any person could know that it was a set up. They wanted to see them fight for entertainment, to be emotional "black people" to laugh at.. to perform... Joe Frazier saw that and was a good friend of Ali until the day that he started calling him names to "entertain" the earlier mentioned white folk.

Are you a relative of Wepner? He barely touched Ali when he fell! It was an innocuous glove slap to his hip. Anybody viewing footage could see that something other than a punch caused Ali to fall. If you want to claim some kind of consolation for Wepner getting his ass whipped by a thorough boxing lessons with countless blows to his head then that's okay. Ali was toying with him I think you'll find. Playing with him like a cat with a mouse. It ain't coincidentle that Wepner hits the canvas with only seconds to go in final round!

Anthony Willis I'm taking up for Ali, man. If that was addressed to me. Ali was tired, yeah, but he had way more energy than Wepner.. Wepner wasn't trained to go 10 rounds, let alone 15. Like I said, in the 9th round, there's no way that Wepner knocked Ali down with a blow to the mid section. Wepner's knees were locked while Ali was still bouncing around. Fighting is a lot about stamina, and Ali had way too much of it. Wepner had to step on his foot. Hell, the guy has illegal written all over him. It was foretold that he would throw illegal blows anyways.
