Thanks for watching, I know you've been busy, Yeah it was neat how he just made his own path and was able to develop a living in the music business.

Thanks for your kind words! The reality is, I don't know how to do anything else! Seriously. At one point during a period after being laid off from Capitol Records, I tried some other things but either I sucked or they sucked so I stuck it out until another record company gig opened up - after about six months - which I loved!

ALOHA MonieMuse Great interview . I enjoy hearing about other people in the VC & how they started collecting or the business side of their Company. I'm going to check out his channel & subscribe thanks to you & this interview. All areas you all talked about was interesting. When he mentioned one of my favorite early 1970's Drummers & Singers Buddy Miles I was like I need to watch that video of his. I was blessed to see Buddy Miles preformed here in Honolulu, but it was in the 1990's but still was a good show. Monica I really enjoy these podcast interviews, hope to hear & see more soon. Hi Monica - I was in a similar position to Vince at Arista in the 80's. I subbed to his IG. Cool he worked with School Of Fish who were real good ( 3 Strange Days their most popular song ) Excellent interview ! I liked Virgin Megastore on Sunset & when I was a teen I used to go to Music + in Westwood because the record company my Dad worked for had an account there so I could get free records ( I used to special order imports & independent label stuff ) Fun times !

How awesome, what did your dad do at the record company? So cool you got some free records then! LA had a lot of large record store back then huh, did they have a Warehouse?

@MonieMuse Yes , The Wherehouse had their own slogan " Where ? , At The Wherehouse ! " My Dad was an A&R talent scout. He had a pretty successful career.

Hi David! Thanks for checking it out - and my IG for that matter! Gotta love those record label accounts at record stores! I had a girlfriend in college who's dad was in the biz and his account was at Music Plus on Vine Street. While I never went there personall to shop on the account, he'd give me a copy of the Billboard Top 200 and have me circle anything I wanted then brought the home for me. It was awesome!

I'm going to guess Tempo records was a local merchant like Tapeville? so your first cd's were from Ontario Mills in Tower Records or the other store? our store was in Manhatten I went to that store a few times when I went to the city. Tower was in Nanuet across the Mall and in Paramus NOT at any malls. Apple boring? amazon boring? spotify boring? I can see the cd's he has alot but does he have great albums or just cd's example great albums would be like Kiss- Destroyer - self titled Rush - Moving pictures cd's just to have would be like Van Halen - Balance , kiss - Sonic Boom? does he like bands middle years and does he have any of their albums? Ac/dc - Flick of the switch? Ac/dc- Fly on the wall? Black Sabbath - Technical Ectsay? Black Sabbath- Never say die? Judas Priest - Ram it down? Judas Priest- Painkillers? Kiss - Creatures of the Night? Kiss - Lick it up? Kiss - Animalize? Iron Maiden - No Prayer for the Dying? Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark? Ozzy Osbourne- No More tears? Van Halen- Balance? Van Halen For unlawful? does he like any of the slight heavier music like Accept? Manowar from Accept does he have any of UDO's music the solo material? does he have the se bands last good album? Ac/dc- For those about to rock? Black Sabbath - Sabbath bloody sabbath? Judas Priest - Turbo? Kiss - Dynasty? Iron Maiden 7th son? Ozzy Osbourne - No Rest for the wicked? Van Halen -ou812?

Hi Mark! Tempo Records was an LA-area chain of about 25 stores. They were around from about 1975 to 2000ish if I recall. Great stores! I'm still close with many of the folks that worked throughout the chain. I started as a shopper in junior high at my local store, then they hired me, and then I was their Capitol Records (and later Vanguard Records) sales rep, so I have a lot of history there.
