I'm a rock climber, and I've never really armwrestled before, but it has become my favorite spectator sport BY FAR. I've bought every PPV since you faced Levan last year, and every event is something I look forward to. I definitely plan on trying it for myself soon.
@Grøøthen11 ай бұрын
we have some rock climbers that are very great after 1-2 years in the lower weightclasses. i don't know your weight but if you are in a lower weight class and have strong forearms from rock climbing you have good potential. finger strenght is not very important in armwrestling compared to wrist and pure forarm strenght, but rock climbers usually have good forearm and wrist as well.

There is a guy who arm wrestles at my club. He was a rock climber and he's unbelievable. I make no claim to be any kind of expert at all, but I am certain there must be good carry over. There are not many people I've seen beat him, especially on the left.
@JHAN121211 ай бұрын
@@paulhobson8987 Climbing is very intense on the hands, wrists, forearms, and elbows. It's also very biased towards pulling motions. It may be the most similar sport anatomically to armwrestling other than just pure lifting. I would imagine seasoned climbers would have a bit of an easier time getting used to armwrestling since the elbow and wrist tendons are similarly developed to handle pressure from multiple angles. The only thing about climbers is that most of us are skinny and don't have as much bicep or shoulder strength usually.
@pLaIrVaIdNoGx11 ай бұрын
@@paulhobson8987 it would definitely stand to reason. Rock climbing requires exceptional strength and endurance. I've only done it once, and by the time I was done, my forearms were jelly. I have mad respect for those folks and the shit they can do

with armwrestling its the same as with other sports, u need bigger stars to sell PPVs and make money. or else nobod will care. you need to be able to sell fights and market urself. this is still something many people within the armwrestling community struggle with or dont have an understanding for. for them its all about ''sportsmanship and respect'' and all that. And while all of that is great, it doesnt sell any PPVs. People want to be entertained. They want to root for one guy vs the other. They want to be polarized. Its the same in MMA. Thats why khabib vs mcgregor worked so well.

My elbow feels fine, no color or indication of serious damage. I'm already working with bands and can go backwards and pronate no problem. Not too sure what happened but definitely isn't bad as my elbow already feels way better a couple days after. This will only strengthen it in the long run and I'm excited to see how this new training method changes the way I pull. Thanks for watching;)

I think Devon is wrong about it finding its way into school sports. Theres too much risk of devastating injuries at that age. If it become a high school level thing, after a couple years of dozens of kids snapping their arms in half and possibly having amputations it’ll end. Because at the end of the day, snapping your arm in half with a compound fracture, there is a risk of amputation. And you can’t have that. Not for 16 year old kids. Not sanctioned by the government.
