WalLah, this is exactly what occurred to me while watching. Dr Yasir Qadhi is so innovative in his efforts to expose the Ummah to knowledge in different spheres. Bringing major scholars like Dr. Suwaidan and others before him to share invaluable tit bits on the Deen, on the state of the Ummah, on their lives and experiences, is such an invaluable exposure. We would, perhaps, otherwise not learn of what we have the opportunity to learn from them. Interesting interview with Shaykh Suwaidan, also giving us a brief peep into the persons of some of the greatest scholars of our time! May Allah SWT Reward them both with Al-Jannatul Firdaus, ameen Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyum.

I'm shocked there were only 7 mosques in the whole US in the 70s and 1 of them served alcohol for Eid. I'm an American convert, very ignorant about the history of Islam in the United States. I am very thankful for all the work leaders have done to pathe the way for Islam spreading in the US alhamduillah

This is awesome to be acquainted with such a Muslim scholar. However, I didn’t know him until today. That is the failure of Muslim as well as mainstream media. Media like AlJazeera has duty to project him in the Muslim world so that the young Muslims can learn from him about the Muslim culture and heritage.

Subhanallah what a session, really an eye opener for all of the people specially who are specialized in some fields and think they have conquered the world, the quote of Dr Tariq "if you don't take knowledge with sincerity, you have really lost what you have learnt," is enough. Another great interview. Three things the Drs. Simplified for me & others; 1). Question of Al-Wasadiyyah. Loos like the better option now is to use all options depending on the need. Some may call it “doing the right thing” 2). The importance of following sound sources not just following your heart- Ribaa example was well articulated. 3) The questions about our challenges we face in North America and Middle East shows room for improvements. Corruptions in the Billions and having Donation Compliance personnel in Islamic Banks shows our leaders have lost standards.

@Yasir Qadhi you make a strong argument. The truth is that many youths are being swayed by the narrow interpretation of Islam. Social media should have been the biggest blessing to Muslims to reach out to a wider audience because of our media limitations. Unfortunately, it has been taken over by an army of pseudo scholars who are in a hurry to declare everything haram and bid'a. They also view whoever doesn't share their view as a mubtada'i, kufar or shia!!!! This is affecting the correct understand of Islam. Today, Islam is under attack from several quarters because of the poor interpretation of the pseudo scholars. May Allah save us. We need more scholars like yourself and Dr Suwaidan to speak out.

The larger section of Muslims who went to the WESTERN countries were from the Indian Subcontinent and the Middle East and Gulf States and North Africa. While the Arabs from oil rich Gulf States went to get educated and return to their respective countries to occupy Government positions and family owned businesses and help in the development and modernization of their home 🏠 countries; the rest “migrated” for economic reasons and to escape from political instability, conflicts and widespread chaos in their countries of origin ‼️
