I’m an Army soldier and recently went through military language training for Chinese. The amount of times we would say “EMOTIONAL DAMAGE” and “I WILL SEND YOU TO JESUS” in class was RIDICULOUS lol it was like having Asian parents for nearly 2 years and I gained a deeper respect and empathy for people that grew up this way for sure! Though it was tough, I wouldn’t trade the experience for the world!

The Steven He videos showed up on my feed and I subscribed. And then I see Steven with Julie Nolke, another one of my favorites. Comedy is best when it's relatable. The reason you guys get better reactions from Asian audiences is because it is relatable. There are percentages that come from mixed families or know someone or in some other way had contact with the personalities your humor/jokes/skits are drawn from. My mom was from Taiwan and I spent most of my life growing up in Hawaii. I find it difficult to breathe sometimes when you guys throw that one line out or describe something that hits the nail on the head. Wooden spoon beatings or "boomerang" slipper throwing or whatever it is at that moment. Relatability is the key and so you will always have that special connection with Asian audiences.
