I think Kings of Thrash is a great idea - the best response possible to being ousted from Megadeth. There are lots of classic songs from his eras of the band that fans love to hear live, and Megadeth can only play so many of them in their set, so why not have Ellefson tour those songs along with some or the previous band members as well? If I was a conspiracy theorist I'd be wondering whether this has anything to so with why Mustaine asked Marty to do a live show with him - can you imagine if Ellefson had gotten Marty to tour with Kings of Thrash instead???

He's healed and on top of his game. I think Megadeth didn't handle his personal issues right. He should have been dismissed and not fired. But dismissed to heal and get back. They lost a very creative and musical person.

I also thought it was the wrong decision. Yes Ellefson messed up big time, but so has Mustaine in the past. He should have been told to sit out the tour and take a year or two to work on his issues and that he would be welcome to rejoin once he had sorted out his mess. But hearing his comments on how Mustaine had been running the band of late it seems he wanted to be the one who called all the shots, so having a member who is considered practically a co-founder by the fans messes with that.

They’re doing it for fun. Honestly Mustaine gets all the royalties for performing the music live. They aren’t making tons of money to do these shows at all. Especially with the cost of touring and the small amount of money these venues and promoters are paying them.

Newsted left rather than being kicked out, plus the way Ellefson was kicked out seems unfair. That makes a big difference in mine and many other people's minds.
