Lovely interview. A much-deserved win for Kasia giving us what was probably the best stage all season.

Super natural cycling talent from small town in Polish Beskidy Mountains. And still super natural, modest and unpretentious girl.

I really love the fact that Kasia is open about limiting social media, i think that most of athletes do it but they are not so open about it. I wonder if sponsors are okay with it or not so much. Jonas said that he performs better when people doubt him, but i think he doesn't use social media at all, maybe he should. 😂

This was a very well deserved victory for Kasia. She went from bridesmaid two years in a row, to bride this year. Excellent job!

There is no rote for Special K: if you watch her look up to the left and to the right, she is reaching for the right words to communicate. She doesn’t just spit answers out, she’s the real deal , congrats ❤🎉

Tip for non-Polish speakers: "Kasia" is pronounced "karsha", not "car seer".
@jazemkrzysio2 ай бұрын
You're completely wrong - there is nothing even close to "r" in the middle. Google voice tranlsator pronounces both Kasia and Katarzyna properly. "Kasia" is diminution of Katarzyna ( would write Katazhyna in english probably to explain pronounciation? ), we in Poland use for little girl of this name, or very loved adult one. and I love to hear english speaking commentators ( including Matt in this interview, though not always, e.g. at 18'23" he says "Kasya" instead ) and riders learned to pronounce difficult Polish version of this name properly, very "soft" way, as combination of "s" and "i" makes very Slavonic specific soft pronounciation, much softer than in english "situation" for example.
@Hakucho642 ай бұрын
@@jazemkrzysio yeah sorry, this is the kind of problem that happens when we don't use the IPA. I'm an Aussie, and we don't pronounce (rhoticise?) R's much of the time, so when I wrote "karsha", I meant it more as "kahsha". This is from working with Polish people and having a Polish friend with that name.
@jazemkrzysioАй бұрын
@@Hakucho64 No problem. Even to me - a Polishman - is difficult to explain properly for non slavic people these weirdo syllables. To be easier comprehended maybe I should compare it to more hindu popular words, like "Shrinagar" for example. It's just very soft, like a baby talk.

That is racing. It is not just a Hillclimb. Sometimes being the consistent second fastest is better than being the fastest up the hill.

it's not time trial, it's stage, team sport. SD Worx left Vollering alone. Lorena Wiebes sprinted to the eighth before Vollering, that sums it all up.
