I can’t believe I just now found this video. Everyone needs to see this. These family vlogging parents are in for a RUDE awakening soon.

This is such a valuable conversation. I was watching a video on mommy bloggers by Casey Aonso and one of the commenters recommended searching up this video and I'm glad I did. Also I adore that koala that Lou has got :)

This honestly really interested me. My mom used to have a “mommy blog” too but kept my name hidden and no pictures of me or my sister (from what I know), because of that I thought blogs were totally fine and not as bad as KZbin videos at all. But this changed my mind completely! Sad to hear how Lou had to experience what they did, but glad they’re doing better now! Cool video.

I had never really stopped to think about these children being filmed for big KZbin channels. I actually see my younger siblings watching these videos and for some reason I never stopped to think about how the kids feel or the consequences that they'll face later on. Ever since I watched your tiktok series and especially this interview, I have a very different perspective and are mor conscious of filming kids in any scenario. Thank you 🙏🏻

i have never been allowed to watch family vlogs. whenever i used to get caught watching something like the Ballinger family my mum used to ask me what it was like when a photo of me got taken of me and put on facebook (which had like 100 close friends) and how awkward that was.i used to be so confused but after watching your tiktoks i’m so glad that i was never allowed to watch them now. i’m so sorry for anyone who has to grow up on one :)

This should have more views! Personally i dont have kids but i see my friends and relatives showing their kids on social media. For me is scary since you cant control who is gonna see those pictures or understand the moment they are having, you only show this "curated" view, unrealistic and viased... but they say "its for their grandparents" or "it's for my relatives" That's why i agree on dont exposing kids and teaching them about social media, you CAN and should keep things in private. Wishing Lou the best luck on her healing journey

My kid had a Facebook but the privacy settings were not good (or set, frankly - they were nearly adult at the time but I did not understand the system :-/ ) A terrible thing happened to a family member, then another family member stupidly got in touch with the press. My child was contacted and a family photo NONE OF US had consented to be used in media coverage, was used in an accompanying article. My kid fixed their privacy settings. It was a sobering lesson for us all about the nature and importance of privacy.

I can’t even imagine what these kids have to go through🙁 having to act like a perfect child everyday and not being able to talk to anyone about your problems...

This is a really fascinating interview. @Lou, thank you for sharing your story and insights - it's very brave for you to speak out on this, and your point of view is really unique and important. I never really thought about this issue, but I grew up around the time that Mommy blogs were starting, and I can only imagine what it must have felt like to be forced into the public eye. Good for you for overcoming and building your own chosen family. What strength and courage this must take.

As a trans person I can't even begin to imagine the fear and vulnerability a trans kid could feel, trying to find themself and their identity growing up while being exposed to the world, your deadname, pictures, pronouns, things that can make you feel so small and vulnerable just publicly posted without your consent. I'm glad there's people who understand the risk of exposing children to the internet, I'm glad this video exists and I hope someone who needs it can find it. Thank you for the content. Also, sorry for going off topic, but Lou's koala is the cutest thing ever, love their sweater too.

Side note: has Lou decided to no longer have an internet presence? I tried finding their Tiktok and it doesn’t seem to exist anymore.

Hi I have a questions and hope you’re kind enough to answer me. Iv seen articles and have an idea on the topic of hormonal birth control on fertility. Now I know most doctors and a lot of research claim the fertility is unaffected and chances of getting pregnant resumes once you stop the medication but I am conflicted as I know of many women that are finding it difficult o get pregnant after taking such medication. Do you have an opinion you can share on this. It would mean a lot. Thank you for your time.
@Dr.Ryanmd3 жыл бұрын
Hey Izzy! I’m glad I saw this. From my understanding and what research says, it does take typically 1 to 3 months for your ability to conceive a child to go back to normal. In general, getting pregnant doesn’t always happen right off the bat with couples who actively try to have a child. Sometimes it takes couples a couple of months or longer to get pregnant. I would talk to a Doctor who can answer questions specific to your health if you ever have the chance! You should be okay if you want to do it, but it depends on your situation & what a doctor says.

@@izzyem5590 I was on the pill and twice, within a month of stopping it, I was pregnant. I know anecdotal evidence is not always exactly reliable, but if this contributes ANYTHING to your question, I am happy. I had been on the pill for most of my adult life btw and was in my late 20s in the first situation and in my late 30s in the second. Again - hope this helps in some way. I gather results can vary widely :-)
