This is so helpful to us, thank you. We are at stage 1. There are very few videos about UK (England) adoption and yours have been very informative and lovely to see you so positive about it all !

Couldn't agree more iv mentioned her videos to my social worker its absolutely shocking her videos arnt made more to hand or highlighted or even the fact local authority dont have more of these but its power to molli and I'm glad bc it's nice to be able to promote somebody so organic and genuine n that's what parents like me get so much comfort from ...ps sorry for jumping on this comment and apologise in advance but just had to agree and further add to ur comment and thoughts 🙂

Hey James, best of luck with you & your partner, we are just starting stage 1 & have our initial visit on Thursday morning (4/02/21)...albeit virtual. Do you have any tips or info you could pass on regarding the first visit? TIA.

Hey Molly Great video, as they all are. You have given some great tips here. We adopted our son 4 years ago. It was a whirlwind 6 days of intros. We are now doing it again and have just been linked to another boy. I really like your tips on reflecting and taking notes. I wish we had done this with our son. I will be buying myself a nice note book to record it all in. Thanks again. 👍🏽

We know it’s a very long way of yet but introductions in little ones house is a worry for me because of being in a wheelchair because little ones home may not accessible for me to see their routines being done etc. Something I will have to bring up with our social worker nearer the time.
@MollyMamaAdopt3 жыл бұрын
It’s definitely something to discuss. There is always an introductions planning meeting where this would be discussed Katie. It’s important you do get to witness routines and I’m positive social workers would do everything they can do ensure introductions work well for everyone.

@@MollyMamaAdopt I have been honest from the start about my disability so hopefully it will be kept in mind and not a mad panic if fingers crossed the time comes for introductions.

Hi Molly, thanks for the great video, really helpful and full of tips 😊 We are due to start introductions with our little one at the end of the month - feeling really excited but very nervous! Can I ask if you felt this way and if you felt pressure for things to go well in any way? We’re worried about how our little one will react to us as they have been living in a lockdown world with just foster carer since they were born. I’m sure things will be fine in the end and we’re prepared for things to take time but are just nervous about how it will all go! xx

Hey! Firstly, CONGRATULATIONS 💗 So so exciting! Yes I felt the same - terrified, excited, constant butterflies, also wanting to vomit etc. It’s such a huge deal and a life changing moment. My best advice would be present with your feelings, just feel them & enjoy intros as much as possible 💗

Hi Molly, I’d like to say a massive congratulations to you & your husband on your adoption of your little boy. Me & my partner have just began the adoption process as we await our initial (virtual) visit on Thursday 😃...having watched your video I’d like to ask, as you reached the stage of having daily contact & the traveling time for this, how did your employer support you with the time off needed for this & the many other processes of adoption? Is it a legal requirement for employers to support employees in the adoption process? TIA
@MollyMamaAdopt3 жыл бұрын
Hi Carl. Thanks so much & congrats on starting the process 🙌🏻 there is some requirements employers have to support. I took the initial process appointments as flexi time or annual leave but once you have been matched with a child then you are entitled to 5 paid time off appointments (I believe they can be up to a day long each!) there’s more info on the government website x

@@MollyMamaAdopt ok thanks Molly, that’s great 😃...we had our virtual visit this morning which went really well, so the SW is writing a report for her manager to give her recommendation for us to proceed to stage 1! We’re absolutely thrilled 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

Molly can I ask you how did he react the first days of placement, was he crying? Or was accepting to the change? Please tell me
@MollyMamaAdopt Жыл бұрын
Hi love! He didn’t really react to be honest and didn’t give us much expression at all. He was definitely wary of us as strangers and was sticking by his foster carer for a while x

@@MollyMamaAdopt Thanks for replying Molly, but I meant in my question when he moved in after placement day when there was no more foster carer.

@@Leenalast90 ahh my apologies. He wasn’t upset but was distant. He was comfortable allowing us to care for him but it took time for him to settle.
