Richard is a legend. Space Marine Conquests: Apocalypse is a great book and Richard does it justice. Easily one of my favorite 40k stories. Loveable Word Bearers who have legitimate charisma but are just as plotting and evil as ever.

Funfact: In twice dead King: Ruin: When Oltyx is on the way to Una he talked about a story of a shipwrecked Necrontyr. This is a parallel to an original middle egypt Story called the Story of the Shipwrecked. Even the last sentence of the Story, that you dont give whater to an animal that will be butchered at the next day is the same like in the orignal story. Such wonderfull details !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even Heka and Kemet are egypt words: for magic and the Land Egypt. i love it

Oltyx is basically the generic Necron Overlord model, the one with the hyperphase glaive and tachyon arrow. You can run one of those as Oltyx in a custom dynasty.

Great interview and I have liked the Necrons since the redo of their lore from boring Terminators. Mephiston is a Chad and wrecks just about everything that's not Demon Primarch's, Necron Overlords, and things of that power. After becoming a shard of Sanguinius he spanks so many. Glad my Favorite Astartes Chapter and my favorite Xenos faction are getting so much love. Big fan of the new lore of both.

After listening to the 2nd book in the Devastation of Baal series where he is doing Blood Angels I have come to find out he is not doing a special Necron voice, but that the range of voices he does lends itsself really really well to Necrons and Tomb Kings. Richard Reed has become my Canon for how necrons nobility are meant to speak to each other respect that has been marinating in sarcasm for eons. But I still think everything from a basic necron Immortal on down talks like B1 battle droid from Star Wars the Clone Wars to each other. Just the nobility don't care to even listen to what the lower-ranked menials have to say. No matter how much they complain there still slaves to command protocols, and that's all that matters to those in command. Also I do love the idea that all necrons just have a little icon they can tap on shoulder and they just become covered with a intervisual cloak that makes them look like a human. I'd imagine that it would be various from different sorts of necron like Warriors would look like normal Imperial Guardsmen Immortals and death marks would look more like hardened veteran sergeants and scoundrels. And leader class that would look like Noble admin workers

I kind of wonder if at some point shoudl they run out of Warhammer 40K stuff to talk about (which is just a possibility), would they be willing to cover Warhammer Fantasy and/or Age of Sigmar, cause at one point if I remember hearing this correctly, GW was going to connect Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40K together, and would've actually made Sigmar a lost Primarch........before Sigmar became too powerful to realistically be one.

@@pgrmoja Well, that is a bunch of confusing stuff coming from someone who doesn't seem to know a thing about Age of Sigmar. Cause one, no, it is not a single planet with "Aliens", it is Eight Realms that are composed of a specific wind of magic, and the story isn't actually bad, and who ever told you that is probably someone who never actually got to try it out and that literally Age of Sigmar happened after Fantasy went through the End Times. And the thing is that what I heard is that it appeared at one point that GW did plan to connect the two universes in a way, but seeing as what is going on in Age of Sigmar, yeah those plans were most likely binned. And I am fully aware of the fact that the two settings are different, but it seems that you need to get a refresher on Age of Sigmar as a setting cause it is NOT at all terrible in terms of story and what it is as a setting that has ascended past what people think of it. And another thing, saying all of those "aliens" on one planet is just silly is essentially you saying that every Fantasy setting (DnD, Warcraft, Lord of the Rings, etc.) is silly which is not actually true, because they are not aliens, they are native races.

Love Richards Necron voices, however with regards to actors putting their own spin on things, that particularly bugs the hell out of me. Helsreach, Grimaldus sounds like a total boss, Helbrecht sounds like a garbled old man yet he's the big giga Chad of Templars. Helbrecht Knight of the Throne, Helbrecht sounds like a stern Giga Chad, Grimaldus sounds like a garbled old man when he's the pre established, take no shit, impose his will on a titan, hero of Helsreach. Its too extreme. Batman has to be recognisable as Batman, he can't be Christian bale one day, and then Mark Hamil full joker voice the next it would throw people completely out of the story. Yet that happens all too often with Audio Books. Sometimes with the same voice actor, I guess they forget the voices they use previously sometimes.
