I love both the old and new music from One OK Rock. I will love whatever they decide to do because Taka has said that they have to move forward with their music. They have loved American rock since they began in 2005 and Taka began singing in English even on their first album. Their dream has always been to go worldwide and I hope more people will discover them and enjoy their music.

Taka said ,in Japanese music magazine ,they don't need people who don't accept OORs challenge for their dream saying that only old songs are good. So I recommend people who think this album is not good put the once distance. Additionally he said that they can return their style of music anytime so please tolerate them for now. btw I really love this album.

Taka is so cute with his Japlish omfg can I kidnap you. Toru don't kill me if I someday kidnap your vocalist. Love to know now he starts singing in Japanese in US too. I hope next they will start making International album with more Japanese Rock influences to introduce how good Jrock and Japan is. JPOP is boring indeed, because of idol culture, even so idol cultures are very popular too overseas. But left the introduction of JPOP to Love, Dream and Happiness world project. I wish One Ok Rock and LDH would collab. *cries*

I mean cant blame Taka.. his parents were literally trying to force him to be a J-Pop Star.. his early career as an adolescent shows it... his parents are big singers in Japan(they arent Jpop) .. but also takas father works on a big world record Company , and they tried to mold him into something he wasnt... thats where the song "nobodys home" came from :) Fun Fact

I love OOR and Taka left clear why they are changing their style, and I support him 100%, also I gotta say it is a relief to me that he plans to keep singing in Japanese, and that the pop is boring for him, that means hes not trying to change to pop as everyone say :v

They're reaching out. That's what I love. Like he says, not everyone knows about Japanese culture. Which is why they have songs like American Girls. So much negativity on the music video for it. IMO i like the song. I love the album, and I love them.

@natyki 7 жыл бұрын
kawaii!~ He's so cute. ^^ I'm so glad I was at this concert. ahaha! But I completely get what he is saying about Jpop. I'm not too big into it anymore compared to years ago when I was younger, but wanting to change the Jpop scene a bit more, I'm ready for it. Maybe that's why this album was a bit more popish. I, was scared for it at first because I love them and their original sound, but I fell in love with this album. I mean, I bought it 3 times. Plus, I just want to support them as much as I can.:) But would I say it is their best yet? Hmm. Personally, maybe not for me, but I don't hate it. I really like that they want to try something new because all artists do that. Some may like it and some may hate it, but how can you grow if you don't try and take risks. And don't bash on him too much in his interviews. Yeah, maybe he is more comfortable in his Japanese interviews but that is because that's his Native language. Maybe his words could be a bit too much but for someone who's first language not being English, I can understand. Language barrier is hard, so I'm just glad he's trying.

When Taka talks about the Japanese fans, I don't think that he was saying it to be mean. He DID say that during ballads the American fans sang more and had a little more energy and that it made him happy. But he ALSO said that he loves it either way. People kind of disregard that part. He just says that it's different and that it shocked him. He never really said that it was better. He loves it both ways. I hope I don't sound too aggressive here. I did previously comment this on someone's comment, but I though I should make a new separate comment for people to read.

prayやplay、I can do it, I can't do itの違いをわかるのはいつになるのかって思うもん。

Bit late of a comment but idgaf. Everyone in the comments is so butthurt and harsh on Taka. One Ok Rock can experiment with sounds. Thats how they decide what suits them and what doesnt. Leave them be. Its their band, not yours so they can do whatever they want. That includes their opinions on albums. His opinion on J-Pop isn't something that everyone should be bothered about. Hes not hating on his culture or on Japan. I hate most of the music scene in the UK and USA. Because it all sounds the same to me. Overall, Taka was just trying to get his opinions across and all of his "longtime fans" get butthurt because they change their sound. Not really classified as a fan if you are hating on Taka and the band for that.

Japanese fans try not to sing along unless Taka tells them so. You can't hear Taka's singing if people around you are singing along way too loud. Also, I don't want him to talk like J-pop is the only genre in the Japanese music scene. It's true that who you mostly see on Japanese TV shows are shitty untalented J-pop idols, which makes you feel like they represent the Japanese music scene. (hell no) But there are a lot of great Japanese bands and artists out there, and they are really popular but just not covered by the Japanese mass media. The number of ppl going to rock festivals, which feature many underground bands and artists, in Japan is fluctuating, and that says it all. And some of the J-rock bands write better songs than the current OOR does honestly. But I keep supporting OOR no matter what.

Isn't still in development? And I really don't get the concept behind the Wearable ONE OK RORCK. I thought it was some kind of wearable music or something like you can feel the music not just with your ears, but with your body as well? something like that? I really like their jackets omg especially Taka's >.

Ahh yeah, they're still trying to evaluate the feedbacks from the people who've got to try them. If they're gonna get a positive feedback, I think they're gonna introduce the Wearable ONE OK ROCK Jackets to the market. I wonder how much it will cost tho, because the jackets actually has a micro speakers which allows you to feel the music through your body. Sounds weird tho, but I'd definitely want one >.

I am rather confused when he calls Jpop "boring". I wonder if he's referring to specific genres like idol groups, because some of the more instrumental-focused Jpop groups out there actually have great music and have more complex chord progressions and song structures than their Western counterparts. I am even one of the people who feels that some of OOR's older material was better and more complex. Some of the songs on the new album are really just 4-chord songs without much innovation, not to say that they sound bad or anything.

Those who criticize him in the comments below just get out of here . As an Asian fan I don’t see he’s speaking something weird . He’s rude ?im learning English too but I don’t see any problem. You totally hater yoooooo he has been in the industry for so long longer than you he knows what the situation is in Japan. And how about you ? You just search for Japanese music and listen to maybe 4 or 3 times and you act like you really know their industry . You’re not even live there. You western people put too much hope in him .you guys don’t like American rock music and you guys don’t even innovate it and find OOR cuz they’re different. When you find they’re not your taste anymore , you just blame him for not entertain you ? He doesn’t deserve you guys. Jpop is boring that’s true though Jpop can’t get a lot of views in their mv . How many your friends around you listening to Jpop ? Like Jpop idol group is no good though . They have a lot of good bands but you only know them when you’re watching anime. Like kenshin yonezu , TK , Aimer, spyair , Eve but will you actually want to buy their albums ? I’m not Japanese but i know Jpop has never been popular in Asia.Jpop needs to learn Kpop to innovate their music from learning western culture. Or else they will never get popular. Cuz music is from America, if you can’t embrace them they won’t accept you that’s how it is . The American thing is still exists. Like bts their old song fire , not today , dope and they now change their style into permission to dance , dynamite cuz they want Grammy

Yeah i think he needs a translator for him and one ok rock.... It's too hard for him to tell what he thinks in english.
