I love this video with the Bullit owner! Great job. Such a heartwarming story. I want to watch The Bullit movie now! I ordered a 2018 Mustang Ecoboost in January. I am so excited to drive it! I know it’s not a V8 but I am coming from a Civic so it is perfect for me. Besides my husband has a 2016 GT. So I can always drive his if I want to. Thanks for sharing his story! I got to see the Bullitt back in 2018 there on the mall during lunch break . At the time I worked in downtown DC . There weren’t many people to see it or even knew what it was. I ended up being an impromptu docent telling people about the film , the car and the recent reemergence after so many years in private hands

I learned to drive in a 68 corenet. And a 68 Fargo van. Big family. My first car I bought was a 74 javelin. 401. 4 speed. Black and gold. 1200 dollars. I offered 1000. The guy was a narlly bastard. Three flats and covered in sap. What a nightmare. But a little elbow grease and she was a beauty. Oh the cars I drove in my time. A generally paid 1000 or less. Amazing time. Today I drive a 08 Silverado extended cab. Just a plain jane. Crank windows. But it's a good ride. I sure do miss my C10 68 to 72. My old 68 Fargo truck. My 65 Buick riviera. What a ride. 2000 dollars I paid. Sold for 7000 a year later. 1986. Kick my ass. Lol. The list is endless. My javelin broke down shortly after I bough it. As it was being repaired. I went up town and bought a 1972 grand torino. 302 grammas car. 900 dollars. In 79. Nice car. If you drop a bigger motor in it. Switch out the seats to buckets. And a big ass shifter between the legs. Nor mine of course. The ones we raced in the day were the maverick. Vega. Pinto Capri. We demo all the rest. Lol

Matt I think I told you that the coworker I work with at the winery used to be good friends With a guy name Bill, Bill was the driver in the black charger in the movie and my coworker would grab lunch with him every week my coworker didn’t even know who he was they were just friends both crazy car guys until one day Bill told him about the movie and what he did apparently he retired in Lodi California and I think my coworker said his name was Bill Cunningham? But how cool is that to be sort of close to the The movie in such a weird sense like that?

"THE BULLIT" Mustang Modified to McQueen's Exzact Specks was discovered in a Mexican Junkyard a couple year's ago ( A-holes who found & Bought it wanted them to customize it to a 67' Shelby "ELEANOR" lucky FOR EVERYONE IT SURVIVED & They Realised they found the HOLY grail before gutting it. That second flat back shot one take, McQueen didn't drive either

Watch the movie again. This is clearly not the chase scene/backward burnout car. That one had a power antenna and was banged up at the end. While this was the "hero" car, it's ironic that the chase/jump/stunt car is the one that was used in all the memorable scenes.

Wait his FATHER was looking for a shelby, as that's exactly how the stuntcar was found in a way, a guy was looking for a 67/68 to turn into an elenor replica in mexico, only to find a haggard old 68, which turned out to be the old stuntcar, sad part is it looked like it had its old shelby gt350 wheel in it when he found it, which Mcqueen specified for the car, and I think the owner junked it. but regardless this explains why this new one seems so special, it was literally put up against the OG car, not one like it, the REAL one, and made as a tribute to it and the late father who found and kept the car together for all these years, although Mcqueen must have felt like he was rolling snake eyes back then, as this 68 got sold, and he sold his XKSS, and tried but never COULD get them back although most ironically, now jag is making continuation cars of that said car and now we have this, in addition to new production old school mustangs too.

Is there any way he can bring the Bullitt Mustang to The Automotive Gallery in Green Bay WI, I volunteer there and it is an immaculate gallery showcasing all types of cars as artistic design, and all the cars are driven even the ones from 1900. The newest edition is a Ford Mustang GTH Shelby 500. The gallery is owned by Red Lewis who owns PDQ car wash systems. A lot of cars there are out of his collection but there are cars on loan from other owners. Let me know if your new friend would be interested in placing the car in the automotive gallery for a month or two on its national tour.
