@@byrdxbyte TELL EVERYONE - this is, hands down, on the way to becoming one of the greatest shows in television history. it didn't have to be this good - it could have been just ok and anne rice fans woulda enjoyed it, vampire fans woulda enjoyed it. BUT THEY KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK. S3 is gonna be the first time the second book has ever been on screen.

The episode titles come directly from the Anne Rice books (dialogue quotes and chapter titles). This series is closer to the books than the 1994 film (and better). The third season begins in 2025 ("The VampireLestat").

@@byrdxbyte I am SO hoping the show gets to a Queen of the Damned season! As much as the Queen of the Damned movie disappointed me, Aaliyah's portrayal of Akasha was mesmerizing. Whoever gets cast in the role (should the show ever get to that story) will have MASSIVE shoes to fill, of course, but having seen these first two seasons I have TOTAL faith in the writers and casting team.

Louis went into the business of running brothels after the death of his father. The Pointe Du Lac family was originally in the sugarcane business, but the father made poor business decisions and put the family's weath in jeopardy. Louis found a way to keep his family in the life to which they were accustomed.

Loved this reaction, it's always great to see new reactors discover Interview with the Vampire because this show is criminally underrated! You have no clue what this show has in store for you, but it will be an amazing ride! You're context of Hannibal (which was partially inspired by the original Interview with the Vampire books by the way) is great prep for the nuance and intensity of this show. So many great actors, Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid were born to be Louis and Lestat! Your "pearl clutching" at the petit coup scene was hilarious by the way lol part of what makes this show so great is it's commitment to portraying the explicit queerness of these characters that the firstbook (released in 1976) and the movie adaptation (1994) couldn't or wouldn't do. Definitely subscribing for more!

if there's a similar vibe that's because the books the show is based on was based on the interview with the vampire novels!!!! will is basically a louis stand-in and hanni is the lestat!! edit: forgot to mention that abigail is the claudia!! i'm not certain, but my personal headcanon is that alana is the armand due to knowing hanni first and forming a romantic relationship with him, and then going to will after he and hannibal fall out and developing a much closer relationship with will whilst almost becoming a sort of guardian figure as well??? she even witholds information from him for 'his benefit'. and finally, i feel like freddy is meant to serve as the daniel molloy with the first obvious being they’re both journalists who are interested in interviewing our loustat proxies!! edit no.2: this one is kinda far out there but alana even has her rashid → The Vampire Armand moment later on after she gets away with murder!!

So fun-fact, in regards to Hannibal vs IWTV (for those who don't already know... Hannibal, specifically Hannibal himself & Will Graham, and Hannigram (their relationship & dynamic) is actually based *loosely* off of Louis & Lestat and Loustat. As characters, and their relationship and dynamic. That's why IWTV feels or seems so familiar and/or similar, to those of us who are coming from Hannibal. Or who are Fannigrams, or Hannigram fans. So Bryan Fuller, the creator of Hannibal, has always been a massive fan of The Vampire Chronicles, and specifically Loustat. And has publicly confirmed that Hannibal & Will are based off of them, and Hannigram is based off of Loustat (from the books). He also, was actually originally the one who was going to be doing this IWTV adaption. Before Rolin Jones... Now I personally don't know why that fell through. But he is a massive fan of this show, and has publicly (social media) applauded Rolin Jones and this show. -- Now what I would love to see (as someone who is actually just a fan of Bryan Fullers work) would LOVE to see, in any of the coming seasons, Bryan Fuller invited onto IWTV... to do an ep or two, alongside Rolin Jones OR I'd love to just have a TV Series or movie done as a collab between the two. That would be utterly amazing 🙏🏽🙌🏽

Yess, so excited more people are getting into this! And you are coming from Hannibal, so you have some tolerance for morally depraved chaos 😂 This is never 100% confirmed in the show so I don't see it as a spoiler to say this, but its been confirmed by the showtunner behind the scenes and the original author of the books: Lestat had nothing to do with Paul. He was just mentally ill and no longer wanted to live and Lestat could see that in his thoughts. Ergo why he kind of said his official goodbyes to Louis, had a good night at the wedding, and that was him kind of making sure everyone would be okay without him.
