Thanks for a thorough recap! One small suggestion: I’m from the US and I find your accent a bit hard to understand in places. If you can slow your pace down just a bit I think it would be easier to understand. But otherwise, a very useful overview of S1. Thx again for putting in the effort.

​@@filmfugitivesThis is nitpicking, but Daniel's surname is pronounced Malloy ( the loy is pronounced like the word toy). 2- When the story jumped back to 1910 NO (As the favoured son) Louis had already inherited his father's business which was a sugar cane plantation...NOT a string of brothels! He had to resort to being a pimp who owned brothels due to a combination of his father running the plantation business into the ground before he died. And coupled with jim crow laws the family was months away from bankruptcy. 3- The first incident between Paul and Louis is not what attracted Lestat to Louis bc he had already been stalking him some time before that after seeing him in the streets. You can see Lestat watching Louis long before the altercation with Paul took place. Did it encourage Lestat and make him want Louis even more? Absolutely! But it was not the initial cause of the attraction. 4- Lestat never asked Louis to sell him a townhouse. Rather, he stated that Louis was the reason that he purchased a townhouse due to his attraction to him. 5- (This one is debatable) though they did start spending time together after the card game, Louis was still very much in the closet and at that time, Lestat had not fully revealed his romantic intentions or the fact that he was a vampire. Thus, imo I do not believe that they were dating as of yet. Yes, Louis was drawn to Lestat, but he saw him more as someone that he could talk to and confide in aside from Paul. 6- During the dinner with Louis' family, Paul may have been curious about Lestat's religion but he also questioned Lestat's relationship with his brother. 7- It is false that vampires were not religious. Though it was during his mortal life, Lestat initially wanted to be a priest and was even sent to a monestary to study. In the books, Armand is a devout Muslim who believes in God. And when Lestat first met him he was a zealot leading a coven of vampires. In the show Armand can be seen praying to Allah, and is questioned by Daniel about the contradiction of how Allah felt about him being a vampire. 8- Louis was NEVER on par with the idea of being in an open relationship with Lestat, but somewhat accepted it due to his depleted libido which was a result of his refusal to kill and drink human blood. In fact, he wanted Lestat to kill Antoinette after their first sexual encounter (which we all know he didn't). 9- Claudia never went on a hunger strike...quite the opposite! Louis thought she did but Lestat knew that she was sneaking out and hunting which he proved to Louis by opening her coffin and showing that she wasn't there. 10- Claudia never hit Lestat it was he who choked her bc he was jealous and felt that she was trying to take Louis from him. That was all for the series and thought the resetting was unique, the more it went on the more disappointing it got even almost as bad as the Mayfair whitches series. The biggest failing of all is claudia. She is supposed to be a very young girl and they chose to hire what looks to me like a 20-something pretending to be a teenager. And just everything around her seem to fall apart at that point. Really a missed opportunity.
