I'm sure Timothee was slightly disappointed he didn't get nominated for an Oscar. That being said, I think that is only because so many people thought it was going to happen. At 23 he's already been nominated for one Oscar, and I'm certain that is beyond his wildest dreams even just a few years ago. There is a bright future ahead of him, I really believe it, and Oscar or not, it doesn't take away his powerful performance. Leo was 40 before he won his first Oscar. That does't mean he isn't celebrated. Sometimes it's just not your time. But it will be one day!

I just wondered that when she asked how he prepared for the role he didn't say, that he went to meetings, watched videos on KZbin of people high, lost a bunch of weight... Anyhow Yes, no Oscar nomination is a BIG snub! I've been thinking that the Oscars have gotten backlash for rewarding something like weightloss (Mathew McConaughey in Dallas buyers club) because it can actually do permanent damage to your health,so maybe they wanted to stay clear of that

The interview was taken right after his press conference at the Academy of Motion Pictures and Arts (Oscars). It's very possible that he was tired. Whatever the reason is for not getting the nomination, let's not forget that he was nominated last year and chances are he will be nominated in the future many many times. I felt the same about it. If i didn't already know that this was shot waaay before the nominations, I'd have assumed that he's upset about it. Probably he was tired, or was just having a low day in general. And don't even get me started on the nominations. 😏😏😏

yes, he is unusually subdued... if it was taped on the 22nd, I'd wonder if it's because he wasn't nominated for the Oscar. I am sure he is so disappointed........ interesting view about the potential reason they chose not to nominate him. There are a limited number of spaces, darnit.

I think there usually is a kind of trauma, developmental or shock that leads to addiction... and this film explored other parts of addiction, being more in the present moment of the addiction process.

Timothee, you are one great actor and B.B. settles any doubts if there were any after CMBYN; one gift is your honesty and transparency on camera;it shows thru and elevates the character you are playing; sadly your emotions and feelings are also an open book in this setting.. As Army once said ,"what you see is what you get" or something. You are easy to "read" by those who know or think they know you. During this excellent interview, I hoped and prayed you would not break down and cry, altho I wouldn't think less of you but this Oscar buzzsaw would hurt anyone who has pride and works as hard as you do.We in the theater were overwhelmed by your performance and the movie.It was a complete success and one for the ages...........just like you. yes! great question, what was the trauma that Nic suffered? The film did NOT address trauma or healing... just that addiction exists... we can only imagine it was related to being separated from his mother. Great answer, Timothee... best addressing of this type of question, to state that the movie had a particular purpose, but does not address all aspects of addiction. She has wonnderful questions... the 2nd question is ALSO one I have been asking, and I want to read Nic's book... what does he say about his pain, I wonder?
