Me again. I need to say that Scotty is so successful also because of his unusual persona. He has an infectious enthusiasm, humour and quircky style. He is very engaging. Also, he shows no trappings of wealth - the opposite actually when you see his workshop. Is that really his shed or a carefully constructed movie set?! On the surface, you would thing that a balding old guy in a T shirt would hardly become a media superstar. So, in my view - a big part of his success is his endearing personality.

@@liviubita4238 LOL Yep, I feel the same about that, but I'd want to be paid in cherry pies. I DO love good cherry pie. Before my wife suddenly passed away in 2008, she would make them a half dozen at a time. We had tandem ovens that six pies could be put in there. My wife could build them all in about a half hour, from scratch. Then when they were in the oven, the house smelled like Heaven. I don't know if Scotty bakes pies at all, but if he could just pay me in Tippin's gift certificates, I'd be in Heaven because of also having access to all his top-notch tools and shop. I used to rebuild 50's Chevy cars and trucks (Body-off restorations) and I had a REALLY nice shop with a lift, AllenScope, oil change pit, and the whole nine yards. I lived in Ft. Worth, Texas when I had that. I had attended automotive college in Phoenix and got my Master's Degree in Civil Engineering and ended up selling my shop (That was a VERY sad day) and started working for a firm here in northwest Arkansas and the rest is history. I had done some engineering work on the side for several years while I worked on cars. My health started limiting me on doing physical work, so I took up with Civil Engineering designing bridges, tunnels, dams, highways, and Walmart stores. I'm very thankful I had a profession to fall back on. Wow, I'm telling my whole life story here. LOL But Scotty gets my brain working and I get to thinking about and talking about my automotive days. I still do all of my own maintenance and anything beyond changing out an alternator, I have a trusted mechanic that I've known since I was knee-high to a grasshopper. He does an excellent job and he and I have some excellent conversations. So, life's good, for now. I live out on 62 acres so I am not too worried about certain thug elements making it all the way out to my property. But I'm quite prepared if they do. 😁

There are a couple of other auto mechanic types I somewhat follow, and they have Scotty's dedication to truth over BS. Many I've viewed haven't gotten a second view from me. I spent over 40 years in the HVAC trade and like Scotty valued honesty over moneymaking. Sadly I retired before KZbin became a "thing". Not that it makes much difference because I don't have Scotty's personality or business sense. He's banked millions, myself a buck and a half.

I think money represents residual earnings for Scotty, he feeds off good deeds and '94 Celica engine noises! 😄

There's no day when I didn't tune into Scotty's channel. He's full of enlightenment, serious fun, and exciting content. Because of him, I got rid of all my VWs and Opels for Lexus and Toyota cars and have not looked back ever since. This man has changed my previously romantic perception of cars. Thanks to him, I've now learned to focus on reliability rather than on flashy design.

everyone on youtube say they are telling the truth, some think they are telling the truth. But only very very small youtuber actually does. and viewers can tell which one does. thats why everyone love Scotty .

I love the side pics of the horses laughing and other animals when he says something pithy. Always humorous & entertaining. I find myself watching his videos even though I don't own the car or need the repair. I've learned a few tips about caring for my own car even when it's not specifically about my car. Can't believe I found myself watching his videos just for the entertainment but he's fun and educational at the same time!

Scotty's attitude, demeanor, sense of humor and you know he won't BS you. We need more Scottys in the world. Since he's a KZbin millionaire, you know his opinion is honest based on his over 50 years of experience as a mechanic. He has absolutely no reason to lie to you plus his passionate about ethics and honesty.

I love this guy! Smart move, to get an interview with Scotty, because people like me, who watch him regularly, are being introduced to you. One of my favorite clients, who has now passed away, was a very wealthy, old guy who could have bought any car he wanted. But he drove a twenty year old Toyota pickup he'd owned since it was new, when I met him. He lived to be 99 years old, and he still drove that old pickup, which was about thirty years old, then. I respected that about him, so much, so your comment about Scotty driving old cars really resonated with me. He didn't have anything to prove to anyone, which I find WAY more prestigious than people who feel they have to drive the latest luxury imports to impress everyone with their success.
