I enjoyed the interview Gary. I can so relate to wanting talk it out, getting the facts and fixing the problem right now. If there's a problem I want to solve it. Hopefully I am learning to give my girl time and space when she needs it and trust that when she is ready she will share what's on her heart .

I always believe that acceptance and understanding is the way forward to a great and fullfiling relationship and this carries over to understanding other peoples religious beliefs and as someone that married a girl from another religion and i did not share that belief but i understood and just accepted her beliefs and did not try to change her religious outlook or beliefs towards mine and she did not try to push her beliefs on me. While am i not married to that girl anymore i can say our religions/beliefs never played any part in causing any issues in our relationship we accepted each others points of view and the manner in how we chose to show that. I do believe that trying to force change in anyones belief system or how the show or celebrate it is a big mistake no matter how strong your particular belief in your particular god or religion. You should never try and either force or use continual persuassion to try and make anyone convert to your view point. If you have a belief system and you want to share and explain that view with others that's fine, but trying to push that belief or how you want them to celebrate it is a big no no. You should also respect thier beliefs and how they wish to show or celebrate that belief, your partner especially if you are already married. You married your partner for who she is at that time and you choose to make the commitment to her for who she is at that time not what you might be able to make her into or convert her towards being. I was concerned when you brought up wanting Leah to goto bible studies. The interview was fun and you could see up to that point how much you two are in love and commited but it was obvious from your and her tone and body language that there seems to be an issue here between you and it stood out like the preverbial sore thumb from the rest of the interview. If Leah is of the same religion or not and even if you think she should be more involved i think pushing or should i say repeatedly putting your thoughts across on how much you would like her to be more involved no matter how gently it is done will only cause an air of resentment that may not be voiced out loud but will cause resentment in the long term! From you since it seems you are not happy with her level of religious study/commitment as you see it and from her about the fact that she is happy with her level of accepting god and Jesus in to her life but she is being "reminded/asked" that from your perspective it is not enough. If she is happy celebrating god and Jesus in her own manner and level and has any form of resistance to increasing that then you should accept that this is who she is and is the girl God put on your path to travel with you, if you arent accepting of her as she is, then maybe it's not her that should be going to bible study to learn about acceptance. I wish the both of you joy and happiness in your lives and hope you are blessed with a life full of many learning experiences.

Curious to hear about your 2 previous marriages. Being that you've been married before, what did you need to do and show to be able to marry Leah in the Philippines? Like divorce papers? Certificate of no marriage? Or did you just need to make a sworn statement of no marriage at your embassy?
@americanchristianinphilipp9602 жыл бұрын
We got married online by USA court. Our marriage is now recognized in the Philippines and yes I provided all those documents and many more to get a PSA certificate.

It may not be an issue of maturity. Some people just deal with problems differently. At least I hope it’s not immaturity because I’m selective about the time I want to talk about issues. 😬

Theres no more important than having a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ because He is the anchor for everything that won’t ever let you down. It really doesn’t matter if your wife, or children, or sibling, or parent believe in the Lord Jesus but it would be a blessing too if they believe. Lets keep the faith alive brothers and sisters until we all meet together with the Lord for eternity. May the love of the God be with you all!
