This is my first video ever featuring anyone! I am so glad my mom was the first person on my channel :) I really enjoyed making and editing this video! I hope you enjoyed it as well. My mom is my biggest support and my best friend and I really appreciate all the hard work she put into raising me and my brothers, and how hard she tried to make everything in our lives perfect, including fixing things like having bed-wetting. I wouldn't be who I am today without her, and I am glad I could make this video with some of your questions today. I hope she was able to answer them well. If you liked this video and liked having my mom on my channel, please let me know! I know she'd be happy to be in some other videos! :)

I'm so glad I live in a country where you can (still) homeschool your kids. I had a horrific time at school and wouldn't send a dog into most of those places. Why were you pulled out of school?

Bullying. My older brother was bullied for being small and short. He was an easy target. He was actually bullied for that most of his life, even from some mean homeschoolers and kids at church and camp. Which is why I always defended him. We were in the same recesses and groups as kids. I was tall enough to be able to tell the bigger guys who would push Clayton around and throw rocks at him to back off. That being said, I was their height (so like maybe a few inches taller than my older brother). When he got taller than me, he wasn't bullied as much, but some folks still tried. So because of that, my mom took us all out at the same time, which meant, like I said in the video, I was in school until the end of grade one. My older brother is 2 years older, and my younger brother is 2 years younger. So I guess that means Clayton was in grade 3? And josh was in... kindergarten? Lol. I'm not entirely sure if thats how the grade worked. I have a feeling Clayton was only finishing grade 2 when we were taken out, but I don't really know.

8:24 Having babies is not usually a reason why women *stop* having accidents, it's more common that it causes them to start.

No I know, but we don't know why my grandmother stopped having bedwetting accidents. So my mom was just speculating. I don't even know if that's true, maybe my grandmother wasn't telling her everything. So maybe she did have accidents still after kids.

There was a fantastic bedwetting forum running, but it got shut down for too many inappropriate comments and posts. I think I remember reading something some time ago that it costs about the same to have to wash bedding and clothing each day as the diapers cost per day. From what I've read and heard, I would consider it a sleep disorder. What happens is that kids who wet the bed have not learned how to wake themselves up in the night to go to the bathroom. Sometimes it can be other things like polyuria which is heavy urine output. There's a clue to that which is that is often times a person who is always thirsty. That can also be a sign of diabetes. When you have diabetes (uncontrolled) you build up sugar levels and then you kidneys try to get rid of the extra sugar by pulling fluids from other parts of your body and increasing your urine output. In rare situations you have a person who has a significant sleep disorder and instead of going through repeated cycles of the stages of sleep, they go down into deep sleep and stay there all night. In other words, if you have a teen that is extremely hard to wake up in the morning, I mean far worse that the typical teen stuff, and they are wetting the bed, get a sleep study. You'll probably find something there. Also for kids all ages, if they have gone more than a few years without bedwetting and start wetting again, that should be a red flag for a number of possibilities. Among them: Abuse, sexual or other, stress, to include serious troubles with school work or too much pressure put on them. It can also be from bullying. It could be a sign of a medical problem as well. So far as the teasing/bullying many kids will deny a problem because they are scared that dealing with it will make it worse. Of course, that's what the bullies want. And don't be surprised if their school seems to turn a blind eye to it, insist that there is not a problem. That's common. Last comment, kids who wet the bed need encouragement and to be empowered to deal with this. It needs to be their responsibility to manage protection and the aftermath of a wetting. That includes the protection (diapers or whatever) and bedding and washing their stuff that is related to the bedwetting.

Thank you for your comment. Sorry I didn't respond earlier, as this comment was stuck in the needing review because it thought there was a website link. That is too bad about the bedwetting forum, although unfortunately I would expect that. So that is interesting to know about bedding/diapers. I have been consistently tested for diabetes and asked by doctors if I have diabetes because of bedwetting. So I've always come out very healthy in that respect, which is relieving. As well, I have done multiple sleep studies, the most recent being about 3-4 years ago. It came up showing that I might have brain seizures, as is somewhat common with people who suffer from bedwetting. However there wasn't enough evidence that I did, when I went back for my follow up sleep study, and when I took anti seizure medications, it didn't do anything but give me skin irritation. So because of the sleep study showing that I also had minor sleep apnea, I recently tested out a CPAP/APAP machine for 3 months. I did track all of my trial with it, and as much as I think it works, it did not work for me (in the fact that I couldn't even keep it on my face for more than an hour or so each night). So I'm going to get a mouth guard for sleep apnea, and see if that will help. As for recurring bedwetting throughout the years, I have gone to therapy for most of my adult life now, and I've dealt with a lot of issues, I would say in general I am stressed out, but I don't recall having gone very long without bedwetting. *I honestly don't remember what all my mom and I said in this video, but I do know that she's always said to me that when I lived with my grama that I didn't wet the bed there for a period of 6 months I believe when I was younger and when my mom and dad were going through a seperation*. My mom tried many different ways of trying to make me responsible for bedwetting, which I think I remember her sort of talking about in this video, but I understand and agree with that idea to an extent. I don't have kids, so I have no way of adding input to that, but I would say it would have to come with a great deal of patience and understanding and kindness on the parents part. Anyway, thanks for your comment! I appreciate your insight and ideas, I hope what I said helps a little.

An incontinence product is not the same thing as say GoodNites which are training pants. That person meant when did you shift to products made for incontinence specifically like adult diapers, bed pads, even stuffers. I wear an incontinence product daily because I like the sanitary aspect of them being disposable, but I'm not incontinent at all. I buy a case of Wellness Pull~Ups every three months because they last that long since I don't use them for $79.99 and free two day shipping which I can easily afford on SSDI since I was born with cerebral palsy and can't drive or work. I hope that helps!

I'm sorry to hear that, that's really terrible 😥 yeah unfortunately there's nothing you can physically really do about it on your own. Unless you set a bunch of alarms throughout the night and never get a good night's rest.
