The funny thing is that to the uninitiated the title would probably seem click baity, but it's really just a fact. Been a big fan since '04, and I find it incredible that his solo work is not better recognized and appreciated.

Dude, he’s also an AMAZING singer, songwriter and producer. He’s also an incredibly nice guy. I got to open up for him in San Antonio a few years ago and the show was embarrassingly dead, he still put on an amazing show and was super happy and cordial. He even followed my band on FB afterwards. He’s one of, if not my favorite people in rock and roll.

Tbh, this guy has always flown under my radar cause I kind of just chalked it up to another shred dude.... But holy hell. That's a level of playing that only .001 percent of the most dedicated players can get to. I'll be checking out more.

He's the dude who makes shredding interesting. Where the average shredder plays the same stuff as everyone but faster, he uses the speed for 'ew musical purposes and develops a vocabulary around it. If you slow his solos down to the point where you can hear every note distinctly, it sounds like nonsense. But up to speed it becomes magical. There's really no one else that can do that

It took me a few months before really getting into Ron's stuff. But know I just went back on this interview, and dude, what a beast he is, I love how you were looking at him like "man I wish I could play like you".
