It was so interesting to hear them talk about the importance not just of the quality of the design, but of the integrity of the design - whether the copy text on a chocolate frog card, or an article on page seven of the Daily Prophet, every detail, even if the audience never sees it, was important in making the world of Harry Potter feel real. Their work transcends just being great graphic design to being awesome scenic/prop design as well. Great design, period.

As a “mid level newbie” designer, MinaLima has served as a source of inspiration for me. They always say no one spots good designs but they do spot bad ones. Their designs are so breathtaking and detailed it’s unreal. MinaLima’s designs are so cohesive with the Wizarding World that you can’t help but be transported into the magic. For me that is the greatest accomplishment for any designer, being able to successfully convey emotions, beauty and storytelling in a piece. Thank you Peter for this opportunity to have a glimpse inside the brilliance!

I love this video. It’s cool that Peter got to meet and interview MinaLima. There are lots of items and designs I love. I don’t live in South Korea, but I’m Korean and I was surprised, glad, and excited that there is a MinaLima shop in South Korea. I was glad to hear Miraphora Mina is also a hufflepuff like me. I was also glad Eduardo Lima is ravenclaw which is my second house.

I have to agree that the most complicated props for them to design always end up to as my favorites, like the Maraunders Map. That’s why I love their designs. The dedication to detail adds so much beyond the books and even the movies. The HP world definitely wouldn’t be the same without their designs. Really great interview Peter!

They're very lovely! I'm a graphic designer as well and yes, I studied graphic design because I was so inspired by MinaLima. I used to recreate their props when I was in high school, and wondering if someday I can get a chance to work on film like they do. The prints I've collected from them are so much more gorgeous in person, and the illustrated Harry Potter books with interactive features are on a whole next level all by themselves.
