I loved the fact that Michael said their religious beliefs would be a problem. As an atheist woman living in a Muslim country, I sometimes say I can't date a religious guy because it goes against my way of observing life. People usually criticize me that this is a way of discrimination and it is not fair. It's not only about raising kids, it's about my values, my political views, my passions etc. and I totally disagree that it's discrimination.

This was so uplifting, and interesting. I feel like my first ex boyfriend and I feel the same way that you and your ex girlfriend feel about one another. I like this series. I'm friends with a lot of my ex's and a lot of people don't get that. For me, if someones really important to you then the feelings are not solely romantic so even if the relaitionship changes away from being a romantic one, there is still enough affection and care for one another to keep a friendship there.

It's nice to see that is actually possible to remain friends with an ex. I kind fondly remember my first bf and the time and experiences we shared, but I haven't seen or talked to him in years and I don't think we could have any kind of conversation togehter now. Mainly because he really broke my heart when he broke up with me to date another girl (the girl that used to be his best friend) and I simply don't have anything nice to say to him. And while this may seem extreme to some, especially because we were so young and it was so long ago, the fact that he started dating this friend right after he broke up, made me question all the good times we had and how genuine his feelings were for me and I could never get over resenting him for that.

She is so articulate, in her own way and not dissimilar to how articulate Michael is, and that prom picture is just timelessly delightful. I feel lucky to be given a glimpse of such a positive and straightforward relationship between two people (of opposite gender), especially since it feels like such an impossible phenomenon from my unfortunate personal experience and from marginalized public media. Thank you for sharing this! For the last question i wondered why either of you didn't address being in a current relationship with someone else as also a reason to currently be unsuitable with each other, but i guess it would be defining the change in your identities based on the change in your relationships rather than the change in the person itself (beliefs and values), so the conclusion you guys made (religious differences) might actually be quite upstanding.

This is so great. Please thank her for sharing and being so honest. I haven't had many healthy relationships, definitely not my first one when I was 16. It makes me happy to know that people did, and that you two are friends and can accept each other now. I just didn't have that experience, due to many mistakes and bad paths back then. It is nice to have other examples of love than just my parents, or people in my immediate friend circle or family- as they aren't always the best example. I was thinking, I wonder how this would have affected me, to see this 10 years ago when I was 17?

That was very interesting, what a wonderful video! It's great to see how well you still get along! I always feel really sorry for people who break up in a time when there's a lot of negative things surrounding them and their relationship and how they hate each other after the breakup.. You two are the best example of how to look back onto a relationship with a grown-ups-perspective. (I hope you understand what I'm trying to say..
