Graham was a good friend, and a great raconteur, and his tales of life in the Lighthouse Service are legendary. I was honoured to be asked to speak at his funeral, and proud to be able to write the obituary that appeared in LAMP, the journal of the Association of Lighthouse Keepers www.alk.org.uk

@@PeterHalil Awesome! Loving the videos. Was always infatuated with Inchkeith lighthouse on the Forth, which the Stevensons used for experimenting with new equipment. Was gutted when the NLB converted it from engine and batteries to solar. They ripped it bare, even took out the toilet bowl! :(

@@perseveremarine1461 Thanks, I have a video still to work on that shows me cleaning the engine room and polishing the engines etc. Next you see the engine room with the engines all gone and the demolition men flattening the place! Some people have no souls.

Peter - thank you so much for recording and posting those guys and the many - then - manned light stations which were part of your life. I was a keeper for twenty years and went through the ugly process of Automation adopted by the Heads of Department here in New Zealand (1980's) which unfortunately left bad memories. Now at eighty I can relate to the somewhat similar experiences and life I so miss thanks to your foresight in recording this unique piece of history. Well done. Cheers. Charlie Wallace .

Hello Charlie and Hello New Zealand, Thank you for your memories, and yes I agree that some progress sucks. I wasn't too impressed with loosing the job that I loved either, and I must admit that editing these videos that I took has brought lots of those feelings, good and bad, flooding back again . Luckily though, most are good. It's good when I hear from other "Lighthouse Keepers" from around the world, perhaps somebody in your family should record your Lighthouse memories to share on You Tube? Take care and stay safe, Thanks again.

What a nice guy, are.most keepers family men ? I used to think that there would be more single people in that job
@PeterHalil

I agree a very nice guy was Graham, Most of the Keepers I met were family men but I did meet a good amount of single men. Most were brilliant with great sense of humours and one or two you would think a Lighthouse is the best place to lock them away in!...LOL

Mr. Fearn sure sounded like a great storyteller. That's the type of person I could sit and listen to for hours. But Peter, how about you turning the camera around and doing an interview on yourself. I'm sure you have some very entertaining and interesting stories yourself !!!

I’m guessing the kissing Anneka Rice early one morning didn’t make his personal highlights as a keeper, I’ve watched this one, well listened to it many times while working, an I have to say I still find it very amusing to hear the chain an padlock story, like many of the keepers interviews I just wish they was all that much longer, I’m sure I said it before, but you should go interview them again.
