I've been using this for more than a year and it's been my most reliable piece of effects on a live setup. I have a full analog pedal board too but I think a lot of people who have have some live performance snafus on those. This is integrated and consistent. No complaints. The only thing this misses for my preferred guitar tone is a compressor and wah. You can get some compression from the od, but the attack is not as consistent as using a stans alone dyna comp (or the like). So for now, I just use a wah and compressor attached to the cerberus in serial (before the OD) and given the 9v power (which is a bloody masterstroke), everything works with my usual 1-spot! Great review. And I highly recommend too!

Great review Shane, thanks! I have got this multi-effects platform since a while now. Fully agree with you as it is definitely not a "plug and play" device, more "plug, read and play" (or even "plug, sit, read and play") thing! The fact, I am still in search of some of its secrets, this is how I fell on your video.. I think you learned me a few things, but I still need to dig into the documentation to really get what I need to know. The rest in terms of tones and sounds is pretty convicing I agree. Thanks again! And by the way: cheers from France ;)

Dude this is the best multi-integrated-effects, I used it to play live all the time, just plug it in to the front house of the bar I work at, and it sounds a-freaking-mazing, and it's the easiest pedal ever, there are just 4 stompboxes and the overdrive and distortion are Analog, they're based on the Morning Glory and Angry Charlie, or maybe clones, the Impulse response loader it's amazing, I bought some Celestion Pro I.R.'s and this thing sound better than a mic'd amp, (in almost all cases), only downside for my it's that it doesn't have any control for the clean sound, so I depende on my I.R and mixer eq to make it sound good, then workaround the eq and volume of the OD and DIST, overall it's amazing, and it sounds incredible in front of a fender type amp, 100% recommendation!!!!

I found the comment about being hard to use is both a yes - and no. Yes, if you want to create individual patches (that you can put in edit mode and modify on the fly) - that is a bit tricky to get the hang of, but once you understand how it works, its not too bad. But, if you use it like I do, which is like individual pedals, then it is super easy. Just turn the knobs where you want them and then hit the foot switches to turn on and off. Easy! I also run a fuzz (Barber Trifecta) and a Mini Dunlop Wah in front - and I am good to go! Bottom line is that if you go the easy route, then I would highly recommend it.

It's a great grab 'n go, very handy if you need to DI. The overdrive is kinda "meh", and the MIDI isn't "full MIDI implementation" as advertised but the rest is A-OK, considering the price. I still use my own vibe, and a flanger in front of a couple of Overdrive pedals and a Fuzz, before the signal gets to the NU>X. But it's fine on its own. If you're going to DI with this, a preamp type pedal in the loop is necessary. But the IR cab sims are pretty darn good!

It would be nice a 2nd video more focused on going direct (IR loading, etc). The one thing I wonder about this unit, because I've not seen in any review is how will it sound with a preamp/amp in a box type of pedal in its own loop, after the OD/dist/boost section, especially for clean (-ish) sounds, since it has no amp modeling per se. Maybe you can check it with your american sound pedal if you still have it laying around. Something like that could add a wide array of tonal options to the unit and won't break the bank

Spring Reverb sounds great and the boost option is interesting. Distortion is not too fizzy and seems very adjustable. Chorus is good. I just got NUX's Core Looper - they give you a lot for the money. Ordering the effects in the chain is an important feature. I personally have the Zoom multi-effects pedal and your comment about learning to tweak them is spot on. Frankly, it is much more feature rich than this one but also probably more expensive.

Awesome intro man! I have a couple of NUX “Core” multi effects pedals and have been very happy with them for the $. At home, all-in-one units are fun to knock around with. I’m not a performing musician at all, but if I were, I totally agree with your comment that you would need to spend time setting this up for the tones you like, then lock it down. I couldn’t imagine fiddling around with it between songs on stage, especially the modulation effects, which is probably easier to do with a bunch of single pedals on a board. My only other thought from an “if I were on stage with this” is that it’s physical appearance is dark, the lights are all the same color (which is a cost thing I’m sure) and the labeling is also a dark color, which I think would be hard to see in a dark performance setting. How cool would iridescent ink colors and matching lights be?? 😎🤙🏻🎸

nux drive core, cerberus, nux loop core. you have a very handy platform that is compact. if you were doing stage gigs, setup presets in banks for what you want. the lcd shows you bank and preset clearly in all light. there are 4 presets per bank and 1 step can totally change everything, so you could gig pretty easily,.

Just wondering what the "patch switching latency" is? Most Multi-Effect pedals, including POD HDX Helix, Fractal, etc have some drop out. A couple of milliseconds is no big deal. The thing about this pedal is it has no expression pedal, so 2 unique settings in one channel would not be possible. 2 settings meaning, pedal forward, lead pedal back rhythm . Or pedal back gain rhythm Pedal forward clean with a touch of overdrive for rhythm

@@davidmerlin3344 depends on who you are and what you play and how simple you want life to be expecially on stage prgram the stuff you want name each one to the name of each song and holy cow life just got less problems better performance less stress on stage less wires and with the GT-1000 you just need to hook to the main sound system no more hauling amps with you to gigs on top of all the other stuff you need to carry with you ..

Great review. I have the nu x looper, it's amazing. If you get a chance to try it out and do a review that would be great. Thanks

Does this unit have a chromatic tuner on it? Does it allow you to tune a string to any pitch or just standard tuning? I tune to E flat and use various other open tunings regularly.

Sounds good, but I'd like to know what kind of amp is being used. That has a lot to do with the sound too.

Shane make sure you always give the PRICE ..... Lots of time that the Deal Maker or Breaker .... Cheers & Thanks Mate
@intheblues6 жыл бұрын
There's no point giving the price everyone lives in different areas of the world and will have different exchange rates and the rates vary every single day. If you check the links I post in every video description you can see how it works out in your currency at that point in time. Listing the price doesn't work well if in a year it changes etc. Hope this helps clear that up mate. :-)

I've been using the 100-watt katana with the footswitch for about a year. I reckon it sounds pretty decent but what I don't enjoy is having to use the tone studio to change a lot of the detail. Does anybody have any insight into how this sounds compared to the Katana effects?

Most Multi-FX pedals like this have something critical missing, but this one seems to have most things covered, and sounds great too! I especially appreciate that they put a Univibe in there. A flanger would've been nice instead of one of the chorus settings, but that's not a big deal for me. Add a wah pedal and that'd be my entire rig.

for me it is missing a master volume and tone controls. only the drive/distortion have these and an extra stomp button. doubling up the button for reverb on/off or boost etc means setting up presets to do this. It is really good and if you wanted to get serious with midi switching etc, you could make it do just about anything.
