Yeah, I loved it for the first half, but the last half had me livid! I know that scientific ethics were looser back in the day. Especially in psychology, which is a younger science that relies so much on methods outside of the lab, that ask questions that might feel like the methodology needs to be bent to really gets answers. But fucking hell, dude. It ain't even the scientists I'm pissed off at, really. Yeah, they hold blame too, especially if the study turned out to have inconclusive results and possibly even a premise so vague as to be ultimately untestable anyways. But that adoption agency... Plainly Difficult has a whole series about questionable experiments on his channel you should check out. About 90% of them are these early psychology experiments from about 1880-1970.

Yeah, I remember. People were panicking everywhere. Some people just going about their lives without suspecting that was their last day. I saw the documentary. They had a hole in the back of the car and that's how they shot people and avoided to be caught. The older guy was the teen's stepdad and he was in the military. He taught him how to be a serial killer. That's just insane.

It may seem messed up but some of these studies are necessary to understanding human nature. And sadly there is now way around it other than using test subjects that aren't voluntary because that will alter the results and make the study useless. Now some human experiments go way over the line and should not be performed, but on an ethical scale I would put this at a low 2 out 10 because the children were put into real homes that cared about them and raised them. The study was done more hands off and in the background. The orphans were able to grow up and live normal lives as opposed to some other experiments that I can't imagine how you would react to if this is playing with people's lives

Statistically, there's 7 people in the world that look like you. I don't know who ran the math, but it makes sense. Our genes are only made up of 4 chemicals. Those chemicals can only be arranged a certain number of ways. There's 8 billion of us. It makes sense that the number of humans exceeds the number of genetic combinations. Basically, what I'm saying is that while you're not likely to run into your genetic dopplegangers, there is a statistical probability that you COULD run into one of them sometime in your life.

@TheBomberman122
@TheBomberman122 2 жыл бұрын
Trust me lab rats is an over exaggeration, they went about their normal lives and were just monitored to see what they do. A lab rat would be a child in a locked room and a scientist administrating exercises to get certain results. That's a lab rat and that kind of studying IS illegal, which is why nobody was charged in the last case. All they did was adopt the children to different families, you can't really call that a crime.

Similar findings have been seen in China and Russia. From children that have been adopted overseas and ones that live in their natural home. Nature vs Nurture has been a question since Darwin hypothesized about natural selection. Scientists have always kept their findings close and only shared them with doctors and other psychologists. The problem with this debate is most of the different nature isn't established. This theory had been done with 'Feral Children' however the findings were inconclusive because it wasn't closely monitored. The most recent government theory was based off race in the 60s-90s. People who are born and raised to hate certain races vs other people who are raised with all different backgrounds of races are the just same. This is a study that is still being tested right now in a shepherd vs sheep theory. The study asks the question, are we more likely to follow the herd around us like animals and be lead to our slaughter? Or will we become a shepherd and stay vigilant like good shepherds and protect the sheep? Don't believe me check closely.

So... they risked the mental health of multiple people and came to a conclusion that flies in the face of reason and science? Separating identical twins wouldn't guarantee the twins would be raised differently, and considering they look exactly alike, of course they will have the same attitude towards life. That study is insanely flawed and the conclusion that they made from the results is idiotic.

Sealing the study until 2066 was a bluff. He originally wanted to keep his license. Because that study violated the research ethics. And if that study would be released, he would lose his license and would be shunned by his colleagues and the society. The year 2066 itself was a bluff because if he'd set it approximately just after his death, that would be too sus and could lead to an investigation.

I have always wondered if we have free will or if life is just destiny. That last story was very interesting, I think it’s a mix of both destiny and free will. Some things are just meant to happen (just like if your reading this now, your reading this for a reason, i am just the messenger) but it’s how we react to certain things in life that determines the outcome. God and intuition brought those triplets together, deep in their sub-conscious they remembered they was born together, thus knew that they had to search for each other. E.g. your sub-conscious is god… they made decisions without knowing, that led them to find each other… makes you wonder what you’re thinking right now, deep in your sub-conscious 🤔… an what am I leading myself into… am I in control of my life … or is this a massive play and I’m just following the script (sheep)… or if we can write our own future we can manifest 🤔… you’re now awake but are you dreaming still ?

I'm a native of Virginia, and I was just a kid when the D.C Snipers were on the loose. I remember my older brother (who was in middle school at the time) not being allowed to ride the bus. When my mother and I would drop him off at school, he would have to sprint at full speed until he made it inside and we could not wait to make sure he got inside. We were told to leave as soon as he was out of the car. Muhammad and Malvo had, by that point, targeted and killed a kid who was walking into their local school one morning. And to prevent more attacks school busses were put on hold so that kids could arrive more discreetly, and they had to run to avoid making an easy target. I also remember a lady being shot by them in a town about 20 minutes south of where I live as she entered a steakhouse. The restaurant is still there, though it's been abandoned. There's also a story of a group of cops who were staking out a phone booth in Henrico County, they had been told the Snipers were seen using it often. At that point the only real description of the suspects was that they weren't white, and so when a group of hispanic men stopped to use the phone, the officers viciously attacked them with batons and arrested them. Obviously they weren't guilty and were quickly let go. I was never told what happened to the cops. The whole situation really sent people into panic mode. And they had good reason to be worried.

That last story was cool and tragic at the same time. Man it’s insane what doctors would do to people for the sake of science or experiments
