Ren and Scar both do this thing where they say dirty things and pretend they don't realize it, and I love it. Though while Ren has this little wink wink nudge nudge tone during delivery, Scar deadpans it *every time*, plays dumb when others react, and never, ever lets on.

Gaslight, gatekeep girlboss is a parody of the cliché poster "live, laugh, love" which is sort of representative of toxic positivity and the meme came about as a sort of way to mock the "karens", who seem to embody that toxic spirit very well. At least that's my understanding.

Pretty much. A little bit more info: girlboss became derogatory after much evidence came out that the person who coined the term (or at least popularized it) was very much not the definition of a girlboss (which from my understanding stemmed from the idea of female leaders, gender empowerment and women supporting women), which made the whole thing hypocritical. Besides the fact that many were using that term to justify the gaslighting and gatekeeping. And so the phrase was born.

1:53 BRUH OKAY I HAVE A STORY I went to England when I was 17 to visit my girlfriend (met her online, as a friend US-UK fun times) and we went to the pride parade in Brighton. well on Brighton pier, at the back, there's a little amusement park section!! I'd traveled with my mom and we said hey we'll go check out what the prices are and come back. So gf and I go off and as we're waiting in line, we strike up a conversation with these two people and hit it off!!! And we just go off and go on rides and have fun with these new friends! I was so proud of myself for being social!!! and then... we were standing in line to get some food when I heard my name very Unhappily called out behind me. literally in that instant, the memory came rushing back in and I realized: oh my god. we never returned to Mom. so yeah, there she was, saying thanks to an officer, and marches the two of us back out of Brighton in silence. (she stopped at a little cart and got us little rainbow lanyards as a souvenir and let me tell you it's a very weird experience having someone very upset at you give you a gift.) eventually we start talking, Mom cries and I feel awful, we tell each side of the story and it's baffling how we managed to miss Mom every time she made her round of the pier. Felt terrible and it was extra awkward because my gf doesn't have a great family relationship so I was like... trying to assure her that this is going to be fine and Mom is actually not irreparably pissed at us. We got back to the air BNB and Mom had to go lie down and later we talked more and now it's a very funny story but WOWEE... yikes anyways we actually DID exchange instagrams with those people and kept talking for a little while but it dropped off pretty soon lol
