iZotope Vinyl is a great free plugin to add vintage character to your sound. In this video, I will walk through every feature and show you a few cool ways to use it in your music.
This free plugin is amazing for LoFi hip hop and other genres where you want to make your audio sound filtered, noisy or even distorted. It's a simple plugin but it needs fine tuning to get good sounds, which is what you'll learn in this video.

Tip : When you increase the input in really high values and decrease the output for gain compesation you get some saturation from the plugin, and sometimes it sounds nice the distortion that is added from this plugin. So it has like a Saturation station :D

I love the Klevgrand DAW LP plugin. It's got a lot of the same features as Vinyl but it adds a presence and saturation to the sound which is very realistic. Klevgrand's Cassette is also great for saturation, it's also got this feature which emulates twisting the tape head which does interesting things to the stereo effect.

I grew up with vinyl and yes it does sound authentic. I have also heard the old victrolas but only in small amounts. I could definitely see it used as an alternative to white noise in a dance track and automating it. Thanks for the video.

Room piano 🎹 It has this very old piano sound with a little bit of Detune, works very well with Lo-Fi. I would recommend to cut off the high ends of the snare and hi hat instead of using vinyl on the drums. It’s also very nice if you turn the pitch of the hi hat one or two steps up, so the hi hat is very clear.

I won’t be reviewing it but in short - I’ve used it and think it’s excellent but at €99 it’s very expensive in my opinion. If you have it, it can get great results :)
