I like your videos so much. They are so cozy. And helpful, too! I mainly work with black pencils, but still manage to make use of your tips because of how good you desibe the principles that certain techniques are based on, so they can be applied to other mediums. Thank you.

Being a professional fantasy artist who paints a lot of actions scenes and dynamic poses, and tho I’ve been using these ways for years, I appreciate very much their being articulated as well as demonstrated in the way you have, believe me it’s very helpful. Thank you.

I’ve done a few paintings with snow storms and found that loading a palette knife with the “snow” and pulling it an angle across the canvas works well for me.

Do you have a quick tip on using cold wax with oils? I’m wondering why it’s used in painting with oils. In the videos I’ve seen have, it’s all been applied to abstracts, but I’m wondering if it can be applied to other styles of paintings, and if so, why.
@IntheStudioArtInstruction Жыл бұрын
@mendyviola, cold wax is used for creating impasto. Since I don't use it in my work, it would be dishonest to do a quick tip about it. It is useful in styles of painting where you want heavy texture. But for layering or smooth textures, it doesn't work.

Can art be purpose of the life? I cant believe it as purpose usually i think is useful to others
@IntheStudioArtInstruction Жыл бұрын
Absolutely! Your question could be a book topic because the answer is not simple, but I'd like to make two points: (1) We are more useful to others when we are whole within ourselves. Nothing brings wholeness to the individual artist more than finding our true voice through our art. (2) The artwork itself can have the power to connect spiritually and enrich lives.

Bob Ross painted by formula. I teach painting by observation.
