The old man attacks the big old dead ash with a vengeance today... cut down and cut up with his trusty Husqvarna 372xp.

Chris...Kenny handles that 372 with a 20" bar like like Yo-Yo Ma with his cello; its is true artistry in motion. With just a 20" bar that 70cc saw is constantly in its sweet spot and rips through that wood. What a joy watching a true pro at work!

Super Kenny takes forestry to another level. Whatever tree that fertilizer landed under will grow to be 300 feet tall. 💪

Great job guys, especially Kenny doing the cutting. Man, looks like a slightly longer bar could have come in handy, but Ken can sure get the job done regardless.

I love working with ash. It cuts and splits nice and is great firewood. We don't have any more in Ohio that are worth cutting up. They are nothing but pith. Those are some big trees. I had one that big on the front of my property, but it was near the road, and I am too old to deal with it. It was huge and still standing. It will fall away from the road when it finally comes down. I hate that I was not able to harvest it .Be safe guys, that is going to make a lot of great firewood.
@InTheWoodyard14 сағат бұрын
This wood will not be firewood, it will be lumber or something else.

What are your thoughts on a 572xp vs 576xp? It's always good to see Kenny, he's fun to watch, very relaxed or maybe stress free.

A pleasure to watch. I keep trying to guess Kenny's next moves around that big tree. An old forest master taught me many years ago: "Think first, not afterwards." Btw, in case anybody needs to know, Swedish for ash is 𝘢𝘴𝘬. Considered sacred in Nordic mythology: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yggdrasil

Obviously, our Swedish neighbors have not cut near enough dry and dead Ash, or they would have more flow of oil on the bars. It would help with the chain stretch as well...👍

Usually when I had to buck a log that I could bind a saw I would down cut about half way and then up cut if there was room underneath. Also, when a saw is pinched, I would take the bar off the saw and slap another chain on to make it easier to free the pinched chain. That was at least 4 decades ago and I still have all my limbs. Every morning I watch your excellent videos. The only wrong way to use a chain saw wrong is unsafely. Glad to see all the PPE and carefulness at work.

P.S. We get a lot watching experience in tough conditions. Decades ago the CLP program warned the class of all pro loggers except for me to always use the chain brake when moving with a running saw. Too easy to trip with the chain running. Ken is nimble with all that debris under foot. Butt. He works fast and expert. JMNSHO
