Glad you got the check Chris. Not as much as we would have liked but we have outlived our retirement, and this inflation is killing us. We will get another out soon. My wife doesn't care for the videos I watch but she comes down when you put up videos of the cats. We have 2 cats now, one 7 and one 21. We lost 2 a few years ago a week apart, one was 35 and the other 25. They went to sleep during the night and we found them curled up in the morning. Our pets live better than most people. I start every day with your video.

Hey Chris! Love your content and your channel! Best firewood on KZbin. Glad to hear the cats are being taken care of and going to get fixed. I know you get lots of you should do this and that. Forgive me if this comes across as that. I’m a consumer of firewood and I love to cut and split it. I notice you split a lot of the big quarters into tall and narrow “slabs”. I have a big firebox in my fireplace. I would not want to buy nor burn those thinner slabs (unless I had to). Again, I’m offering a consumer perspective and not telling you what to do.😊Keep the great content coming! Take care!

Thanks for watching Howard! Yup, I get it, I have a hard time keeping everyone happy.I used to make BIG firewood chunks and had a lot of customer complaints so I went smaller and my business boomed, fast, most people I sell to have small modern high efficiency fireplaces and 9 out of 10 times they tell me smaller pieces so that is what I make most of the time.

Chris, do you ever get any black locust? We have a friend with acres who had a patch of black locust trees. They got too big and messed up his Direct Tv. So we took them down and hauled them out. It seems like that stuff burns better than oak. Easy to light, burns hot, clean, happy wood stove, only setback, it is very stringy when splitting.
@InTheWoodyard11 ай бұрын
Yes but not much lately, and yes it is better than oak, burns slower and hotter with more BTUs. Most people do not know that! Great wood!

@thefirewooddoctor11 ай бұрын
I've successfully sold a 50-50 mix of basswood and oak with good results, zero complaints. By itself, basswood sucks. Have to mix basswood with anything other than willow, poplar, and cottonwood to get a good fire.

I have recently put an order in for an ultra just curious I see you sometimes run the four way and now you are running the single wedge and I’m just curious what is your determining factor which wedge to use?
@thefirewooddoctor11 ай бұрын
Chris uses the single wedge to resplit wood off the processor.anf for knotty wood. I do the same, and I ha e a 28 ton splitter. Even with 28 toms, twice what the Ultra produces, the 4-way wedge can get a round stucl on it if not careful with the knots.
