I been watching you ever since you started up your channel. I wanted to say thank you to you and your brother Ken. For making me a better cutter on tress etc. cause you guys have taught me how to do most of the things I have tried to do but failed all the time. So watching you explain it really helped me out big time. Even tho I been using a chainsaw since early 90’s so a big THANK YOU to you both. Keep up the good work!!!! 😎

I think your new trailer has to be able to carry the tractor. It'd be easier pushing the brush out of the way and good for loading up the rounds. The last trip of the day would then be for collecting the tractor.

This is another real workout for your firewood. Between the big hill and this, you have done your steps lately. So many people seem to leave limb wood or small trees in the woods. My saying is "If it's big enough to split, it's big enough to get."

Hi Chris. If you could get your tractor and grapple on location you would be amazed at how much more wood you could get back to the wood yard. Save time and more importantly save your body. Just my experience FWIW. A flatbed trailer to move your tractor is not all that expensive.

Good morning Chris!!😀😀 Not a bad jag of wood for 3 hours. Too bad so much of it is cotton wood and you aren't really in the logging business. But if you bring the tractor with the grapple over it will make the job so much easier. I always have a saw with a shorter bar on it for cutting in the tops of the trees. The 24 gets in the way for sure in the thick brush and flips the chain way to easy. That's were a 50 to 60 cc saw with a 16 to 20 inch bar comes in handy. Take care my friend and stay warm!! TTYL!! Got started on my timber stand improvement project on one of our properties yesterday, cutting out all the dead, dying, and blown over trees. Started out in the swamp wading through all the little swamp brush while it's frozen. Little too much snow to be getting around everywhere with the tractor without chains, but I have around 250' of cable on the winch to pull things where I can't get to or up the hills

Good Morning Chris Just one minor quibble and that's the value of today's haul. While it's true that the retail price of a cord of firewood is $360, what you have there is raw material, and that's worth about $80-100, based on what you pay for logs.

Maybe I’m cranky bc we had a big thaw and my wood yard is a mud pit and Im just making it worse. Or like you’ve said, I got a weak mind and a strong back, but I would not do much different! A fair amount of comments telling you should do this and that with your tractor etc. I suspect your trailer isn’t rated for that heavy nor big enough and also taxing on a half ton truck. Or get a new trailer or pay someone to move it! Then there goes your free wood! Might not even be cash positive if you were to buy a new trailer. The approach of chip away when you can there and just use your back to get it in the trailer as right by me! 👍

It can help with 5, 10, 12 or even 15 lighter limbs and cut them all together in 2 slices when they are trimmed to "48 inch pieces...; down to "16 inch rounds with only two pulls of the trigger... Right out of the Craftsman Chainsaw Owner's Manual.

Why does that saw keep bogging down ? Dull chain or not enough rpms ? I know those saws are not super torq monsters but such a small tree shouldn’t be a problem. Just asking. Thanks.

@In the Woodyard Yo Chris? Hello from Great Britain! I just came to the conclusion that you need a flat bed trailer! Why? 3 miles from your yard; so drop your wood trailer; if you had one😃😃 go back and get the flat bed and load the tractor and grapple and then ( as all the wood is going anyway) you can cut and lift all the wood out with the tractor! Easier for you; less time consuming and you’d soon repay the cost of the trailer (flatbed) by selling the wood off to the logger Win win situation Best wishes Jonathan

Too bad there was a way to hook the Dremel up to your trailer wiring port. Maybe an inverter to the trailer port and then the Dremel into the inverter.

Just me, but I would be piling up the brush as well and put a blow torch to it... be rid of it so you don't have to move it again. A little extra work but will make work area neat and clutter free. It would be out of the way and not stumbling over that sh*t. Very annoying stuff those dinky branches.
