I remember we went to cinema and watched Indian with family. Until we started watching the movie at the cinema we did not know Kamal and Sukanya played the old characters. Now with social media we have lost the surprise factor.

The reason for SPB dubbing for that dialogue "Athu kita enda stomach ah kaatuna" has a story behind it. If you notice according to the story the camel bites goundamani in his private parts and you can clearly see him holding his genitals in pain. Even when he is in the hospital and the doctor shows his students the injury Goundamani says "Chandru, ellarum pakkaranga enakku vekkama irukku" clearly impliying the injury is in his genitals. Also, in the hospital senthil makes fun of him as he cannot urinate because of the damage "Subbiah, bed pan vekkatuma?". When kamal asks "Enga da kadichudhu?" goundamani replies " Ayyo Anga than" (changed in dubbing as stomach la kadichuruchu) to which kamal replies " Ottakathukita yaen da atha poi kamicha" (changed in dubbing by SPB into "athukita enda stomach ah kamiche"). Since shankar felt like it was too obscene for a mainstream film like that they changed it at the last moment with the help of SPB who dubbed for the telugu portion. So there you go!!!

WHile appreciating the Indian movie (I too love it), its also important with the animal cruelty that happened on the sets. The camel that came in the scene with Manisha was abandoned after the scene and not sent back to where it came from to cut costs. It ultimately died. This was a big issue back then and rightly so, and lead to much more strict laws about use of animals in movies. I wish they used some of the money in the making to return that animal back safely.

Personally hate these rereleases, for 2 reasons…1 is the movie already made huge profit for the efforts and investment why take fans money again, 2 is the directors/crew lost confidence in themselves and failing to recreate their success again but just maintaining their fame with these rereleases. Of course love the movies and will watch again at my own spare time, interest and money.

Saw it today. The end credits were cut short. I went to the movie to hear the sound experience in theatre . The end credits sound portion where indian Thatha walks after making the phone call , is one of best bgms pf ARR. As soon as he started walking the film ended with "The End" card .. people who waited for that bgm are disappointed.. i could hear comments from them .
