Emotion proceeds "reason," it is a more raw and rough level of impulse, impulse is 9 times more powerful than volition aka will or what mouth-breathers constantly call "kawn-shush-ness." Emotion consolidates~filters I to the exact sequence of any and every thought(aka reason~reasoning) the brain generates in stepping down the raw power that is fed to it by the heart's superior electromagnetic flux.

It now takes me an average of 19 minutes, each morning, to pull off 880 reps of; pushups, situps, squats and chinups. My best time was 18:45 and end of year goal is an irrational 10 minutes but diminishing returns suck and I might not drop below the 14 minute mark until this time next year. Hard to raise my power level in old age... It's probably the only thing I have a slight shot of being the "best" at.

I dislike being in the spotlight (and company politics) as well, so instead of playing the social game as an employee, I do contracting, where my skills are both recognised and compensated.

I do think there is some gender bias and social typecasting at play. I don’t think men struggle with owning a room as much as women do. When I am not Ni/Fe looping I am killing it with protocols and procedures that get used by countless others. It really helps when someone recognizes my effort and encourages/pushes me.

Intuition, it's just intent but used as means of observation. It's the steady state where rhythm of heart regularly surges out its beats, each beat a shock-like pulse. Intuition is blending heartrate into the environment, a feeling of feedback at moment of pulse as the heart surges out waves of attention to one's situation. Breathe into stillness as your spine undulates in refresh rates that each heartbeat etches.
@DiLu-o3p4 ай бұрын
I relate a lot to this. Especially when you said “you don’t get to decide that you’re not the best in the room”, that was profound on some level. I do a half arsed job at work (I get to work remotely so I am using “work” veeeeeeery loosely if you know what I mean) and yet it seem to be better than everyone else. I just don’t understand how it’s possible for so many people to be barely competent. Anyway my point being, the reason I don’t like it is because everyone knows my name and face. But when I eventually make a mistake (which we will, we are human after all and aren’t infallible) everyone also knows… and this is on top of already beating myself up about the mistake (I understand I can make a mistake, doesn’t mean I like it). Plus I don’t want to progress as I am unwilling to delicate more of my life “climbing the ladder” when I have other things I’d rather do, so all the accolades are wasted on me.

Its the extraverted sensing inferior cognitive function which would stop INTJ to have the ability or a desire to lead a situation, which i consider a curse. But they be always the best naturally in doing the right thing due to 1st C F intavorted intuition, which sometimes can allow them to doubt a doctor diagnosis when they even did not know any thing about medicine. 😂 and they get it right If they can work on the inferior and accept that they would be wrong in public they will be appear the best. Or to focus on 1st and 2nd CF and focus on some thing can align with their personality in their careers and that wouldn't drain their energy Finally, Your between the line advices is a consultancy with fees, dont give it to anyone. Looking back, i crushed everybody. I DID. eventually i left cause of some managers was narcisistic, they cant handle when they actually get talent. They wanted robots. and yes man and woman, im too strong of a personality to ever be that. But im a born leader at heart. it did teach me and confirmed a lot of things for me tho, so great!

Sounds like you are tapping deeper into your Fi (wanting love). Staying humble, but lively, is most sustainable and balancing. We (intj's) are more fulfilled earning love from our abilities by the people that matter to us most (for me that's family), than focusing on money. We get bored using money to take away problems we would rather solve, and find status empty of genuine love and care long term. Giving love without expectation is scary, (could bring chaos into our life), but the most effective way to receive it. That little bit of chaos it can bring pisses us off (Se,) but also excites us and makes us feel alive, which without, we feel empty. That ideal dose and dosing of aliveness is what an intj seeks at the deepest level. It fuels Ni to solve and clarify it again and again, and Te to try and control it for others, but fi keeps the control from severance from others, and chaos ensues once again. For Ni to get clear on. This is our loop. Everyone has their own loop of neuronal processing. The more we travel around that loop, the more developed we become. The more balanced. But how people naturally balance is the real conflict. Some are naturally and genetically biased to develop power over life and others life over power. People not figuring out where they fit in or seeing this light spectrum of natural behavior makes for people unable to be at peace with this unavoidable conflict that happens over and over in life. I'm pretty sure you are life over-power and not power over life. So if I see you crossing over, I'm likely to give your shirt a tug.

(the only thing I cared about was the software I will be working on.^^) I also observed that I'm working too fast, since I sometimes would finish the program before the team meeting about the new project took place. As this doesn't result in more money, it is not the correct thing to do I guess. I'm not sure if I'm still underpaid, I don't want to know the truth actually.^^

After a lifetime of work in which I didn’t care about acknowledgements or speaking up for the things I accomplished because I knew I did it and that was enough. And because i didn’t, mediocre colleagues were stealing the glory along with the all talk and no action extroverts sucking all the air out of the room. The mediocre people are happy to let you be quietly on your own, as it leaves all the salary and promotions for them. INTJ’s slide the manhole cover out of the way and crawl out of the hole occasionally and you will see the people getting ahead aren’t doing long brain runs to solve problems they are the ones playing golf with the big boss. So as Lijo said monetarily quantify you successes for the boss and marry into the bosses family.

I've been in that situation of being the best and some people would recognize that, but when they needed help they would go to the extroverted guy, and that's really frustrating. Currently I work in a team where they recognize I'm the best technically but my manager won't give me a promotion unless I start talking more in the meetings and start giving more ideas. They told me I have to develop my extroversion (???). I think I don't participate much because they do so many stupid decisions and lose so much time focusing on stupid things, that I lost my interest... and also because in the past they weren't able to understand my ideas and rejected them easily. I'm also a woman working in a male dominated field, so sometimes I don't even get space to talk. What would be your advice to improve communication and become more "extroverted" ?
@rstraub155 ай бұрын
Hi. I’m a female INTJ with 27 years working as an engineer. My observations include: many guys will interrupt the speaker during the meeting. If you wait until there’s a break, then you’ll never get your ideas in. (Are only girls taught that it’s impolite to interrupt?) Feel free to interrupt them; they are expecting you to as a part of your job. If they interrupt you before you’re mostly done, however, keep talking; finish your point. It doesn’t matter if 2 of you are talking over each other for 2 minutes. Next, social skills can be learned. Fake it until it becomes comfortable for you. “Tell me about your research/projects,” is a good ice breaker at a conference. Last, if there’s work you want to do, tell your boss that you want to be on that project/do those tasks. Re: meetings - If you know what is being discussed beforehand and have something you want to bring to the table, I’d recommend writing it out beforehand, and either have your notes in front of you so you can make your most important points, or even print it out and bring copies for everyone with you. (Or if it’s virtual, have it typed up and share your screen.). Good luck!!

@PsychologyoftheBrain5 ай бұрын
it clearly btw is not an NT thing. ENTP's are both jack of all trades, master of none, and lose the battle, win the war. While I can be the best in the room, I choose not to be. Because the sacrifice necessary makes me lose more far more, and if you sacrifice so much, is a win not a loss in disguise. Diminishing returns to scale is very clear. Try to not be the best. It is inefficient. Try to be good enough. Good enough may be the best, may be the worst, but either way, you win. Or in poker terms, I rather fold my hand 97% of the time, and make a profit, than be lag that wins [almost] every pot, and gets stuck on a loss.
