What Gray said about ENTJs not knowing when to stop was and is unfortunately true in my ENTJ father and honestly I think and believe that's the reason for his early death. Burn the candle too fast and too bright will get you exhausted. Self-destruction in neurotic intuitives is something I fear within myself too.

Si Polr = lack of physical balance (Si)...just keep on using it. ENFJ's often do the same thing. Se without Si results in just spending energy, sometimes needlessly and also not in an efficient manner . These types often do not take into account how much energy something is worth and tend to just think short term about solving some issue in the real world right now, without taking into account they should use this same body for many more years in this lifetime. An Si dom on the other end would almost measure the time they will live and will try to only spend the amount of energy that one should spend on one single day according to that calculation

I recently heard on a podcast that when you make a decision, you should set a time in the future to reevaluate that decision. When we make big decisions, we tend to feel obligated to stick to that decision. Planning to reevaluate a decision helps to override this tendency and keep you from commiting to a bad decision. It also helps you to feel less guilty about making a bad decision, because by planning a reevaluation, you're basically telling yourself that it's okay to change your mind later on. I'm not sure which episode, but I'm pretty sure I heard it on the Curiosity Daily podcast.

16:16 ; YES, I also attribute this to Ni valuation & those with higher Ni in general have a NEED to FOCUS on 1-2 things max, it cannot be scattered or chaotic constantly. Also I deeply resonate with a lot of Gray's thoughts on productivity as I operate very similarly. But have also had ENTJ's tell me I am more productive in a week than most other business owners are in a month. So, that has eased my "feeling lazy" thoughts. I rarely take rest days but am beginning to make them a priority. I think also even tho it's the minority, having driven/ambitious types of any type, will also be more difficult to type accurately as we can weigh in & leverage functions out of necessity to the end goal, versus what is our natural state of being. Also I think with the ENTJ/INTJ assessment of goal accomplishment; ENTJ's (& extroverts in general) tend to allow the process to define the goal, as were the goal may be more vague for them. And INTJ's spend a lot more time refining and pre-defining the process to accomplish the goal they have set very clearly as the end goal. The process will happen regardless & it becomes more like subtle tweaks and chaos management for the INTJ thru the process. But the goal is more fixated on than with other types in a way.

The ENTJ lady seemed like she had read one too many stereotype profiles. Te = concern with productivity is false. This is the American version of Te informed by the protestant work ethic that American culture was founded on. Te doms are often lazy, efficiency is doing the least work possible to achieve a result. The original socionics nickname for the ENTJ was "Jack London" and was seen as a person who was able to live alone in the wilderness for long periods of time. I've seen ENTJ philosophers, ENTJ chess masters, ENTJ musicians and poets and even an ENTJ monk. The ENTJ as capitalist CEO is getting pretty tired, even though of course these people do exist.

1:26:00 the thing roughly here about being yourself and responsibility to people as a public figure from AsuraPsych. This is a bit of a, uh... well, I had to process it a bit more not to go on a rant, kind of moment. Bit of a sore spot. Idk if I'm fully following the way Chris intends it, but this type of ideology tends to get used in countries like the US in service of neglecting caring about others and putting the self first. I don't think he means it to be selfish, but that's how that kind of thinking gets used in practice. For example, we've experienced with the pandemic how some made mask-wearing into a "personal choice" issue. The problem is, it's a scientific fact that masks are only effective at mitigating a virus if bare minimum, most of us, wear them (preferably all). In a similar sense, if you are a public figure and you set an example of not caring about the social dynamic and only acting in affordance with how you want to be, you aren't somehow escaping the social dynamic by being as you as you can be; you are doing a social dynamic, yours is just that you think your sense of internal identity is more important than the collective need. Where I think a lot of people end up in this position with sincere intention is that they look at the disjointed, fragmented, culture of the US, where we are split into a thousand tiny factions of factions of factions and they say, the only way to cope with this is to retreat into myself and let the chips fall where they may. What I say, based on my study and my understanding is resist that and instead work toward building a collective of the common people that can challenge the powers that are fragmenting everyone. It's not an accident that we are this splintered and it's not a given of human experience. We can have a culture where, for example, accountability as a public figure is not something where you feel you're making a choice as to whether to care about it because it's already an inherent part of the system. In the typological sense, you can think of it like a system where our strengths and weaknesses complement each other on a systemic level, rather than us being segmented out in this individualist way where people can tend to feel like they have to somehow figure out how to fill gaps in their cognition from their own capability, so they can show up as a whole person. Doing it solo is impossible, while still being effective in every area. We can find areas we struggle and work on them, but there are always tradeoffs and the way we orient ourselves around those tradeoffs (changing one part, losing one thing here to gain another) is an inescapable part of the social dynamic and what we deem important based on our upbringing and environment, not just based on what's coming from inside. I know this is going a bit beyond typology and may be controversial to some, but it's a topic greatly intertwined with a lot of modern human suffering and I think it's important to keep in perspective how culture shapes some of these things.

I suspect I'm an NiFi SC/P(B) INTJ. Given that I consume (and play) I feel my Se is not "as terrible". However I do not strive to get new sensory "just for the sake of it" as much. I have considered whether the SFPs might be a better fit, but Neither Se, nor Fi seem as high for me as for Diego and Kurt. For me my Fi is more of a binary switch. I don't care OR I DO, with 90 percent of the things not mattering to me at all. For example I noticed when I was a teenager that when shopping I could walk into a store, look at some stuff and suddenly see "THAT ONE PAIR". I found out that I could go to other stores and try to find something else, but in effect I had already made up my mind. The older I get the more I see that same pattern under different circumstances.

I actually disagree with AsuraPsych (and you) on this. We're social beings. As such, like it or not, we owe something to each other. We owe each other common decency and behavior that allows for free expression. When people in power, say Nicki Minaj, spout misinformation or criticize a disadvantaged group/person, they behave in a manner that might limit free expression (because people's lives are on the line). Particularly in the case of C-19 information, not everyone has the same intellectual capacity, financial resources, or same educational privileges, so being accurate when sharing information is of vital importance. As such, a person in a position of power has a responsibility to keep those factors in mind when behaving. Otherwise, they might experience criticism, which is a natural CONSEQUENCE of disagreement. AsuraPsych can't have it both ways here. If I spout something others don't like or agree with, like even perhaps this comment, those people have the right to criticize me (or at the very least criticize my argument). That is a direct consequence of free expression. Signed another INTJ

@@kristae.4363 I’m finding it very difficult to disagree with this- I even wrote out a response and found too many holes in the argument haha. LOGICALLY I agree with you, but I just don’t “like it.” I hate the idea of walking on eggshells, but then again, that’s the reason on a personal level that I never share controversial opinions on social media.
@AsuraPsych
@AsuraPsych 2 жыл бұрын
@@kristae.4363 I actually disagree in some sense and agree in others. My general idea is that no figure has any responsibility socially unless they actively take on a role that they are elected for that holds such responsibilities, for example, public office. My general opinion is that I don't want it both ways, I think there SHOULD be social consequence but I don't believe in social responsibility. This is to say that the natural social values will put pressure on those that aren't in line with the overarching social sphere BUT people should not be forced into acting in a way that is not congruent with their true self. If the pressure is too much, they CAN act differently if they like, but it should not be forced. Its the same route I take in regard to religion - I don't particularly care if there is or is not a divine being that decides what is right and wrong. I am going to live my life in accordance to what I believe to be right and I will take full responsibility for such at the end of it. If I am judged to be sinful/unworthy, then I would rather that than be judged worthy for being someone I am not. Thus, if people disagree with my actions/thoughts, they have 100% the right to dislike me or criticize me but that should only change my actions/thoughts if it is congruent with who I am as a person. If social responsibility ruled than people like Martin Luther would not post his 95 thesis, no one would stand up for the disenfranchised, and other atrocities would be allowed to continue. This is because social responsibility exists within the framework of what is currently considered acceptable by the population and is therefor blind to external possibilities while actively seeking to push them down. Nazis were socially responsible for turning in the Jewish, early Americans were socially responsible for turning in runaway slaves. Thus, unless someone exists in a position where it is their job to uphold values they agreed to uphold, there should not be a responsibility to uphold values.

1:25:32 lol. the ignorance. Yes you do, yes everyone does. It's how we develop a sense of identity in the first place. Think about what you like or don't like. It didn't come from nowhere, it comes from what you see. It comes from seeing a behavior or thing and liking it or seeing a behavior or thing and disliking it. Then you relate it to your own self. You are absolutely influenced by everyone and it's ignorant to think otherwise.

25:50 Michael Pierce (via John Barnes) talks about this with Ne vs Ni. He said that Ne/Si is “streamy” and that Ni/Se is “spiky.” I like how Chris said this in a concise way. I’ve noticed that quite a bit between our types. Gammas want impact points rather than a streamy flow.

as far as I know all of the people you mentioned use different systems. You could start with choosing the system with the result you deem the most correct/true/that described you best and research the functions in that system to determin if the result the person who typed you gave you was correct/close to how you see yourself. Ultimately it´s all just more or less educated guesses, but I related to wanting to find the one correct result ^^

@@michellewei9139 hm, sorry english isn´t my first language. - choose the personality-system you like the most first (socionics/MBTI/whatever mixes of whatever CSJ or TWFP use), because your type may vary greatly between different systems. - research the functions if the description of the personality type you got in your typing session didn´t resonate with you. TWFP sometimes offers clarification-sessions i think. I personally wouldn´t buy a typing session from someone using another system then the ones you have mentioned since the sessions are expensive, unless you don´t agree with the framework of the system of course. What do YOU think you are, Michelle? Looking at functions and such. ESTJ, ENFJ, and ISFP span an incredible range of functions and in completely different slots of a function stack. I’d take a look at the functions and see which are weakest or strongest (or just familiarize yourself with how they play out in your life) and not focus on your final destination quite yet. At the very least, I’d try to nail down which function axis you have for both judging and perceiving. I mistyped as an ISFP after my initial research and tests, but that was at least in the ballpark for functions for where I ended up. If you do get typed, Joyce would be a great place to go. :)

For me, as an INTJ, I'm good at Te, but I don't necessarily like it, and it's often a part of myself I don't like (and others often don't like it about me!). I feel like Fi, Ni, and Se are all happy to play with each other, but when Te walks into the room it's always the loudest voice and it just dominates the situation. It's like the other three are kids having fun playing, but Te walks in and spoils the fun. For my dominant Ni, things are constantly recorded as weird and abstract images. I don't know if this relates to my synaesthesia, but ideas, principles and concepts are often encoded into some kind of texture. Thinking is conscious, clear, and structured, whereas intuition is unconscious, abstract, and hyper-connected.
