If you always feel or think you are a intj or an entj , then forever you will going to be stereotype into that personality even though you may not be that true personality as it may take time and self-reflection to gradually know who we truly are as a person but then just take any personality you felt you are as a gauge rather than a forever judgement thank you - we can change our personality to more suit the environment rather than always or often wanting the environment to suit our personality 👌🏻

I looooved this conversation. Such great questions by Tori and also I can relate to Lindsey SO MUCH. I too searched out emotional intelligence books which spun off into more and more learning on the topic. The MBTI started for me at work when our HR dept. brought in a licensed practitioner who confirmed me as INTJ but I had been reading psychology books my whole life and was a Psyche major in college before switching degree paths. Lindsey, you are really just so great at articulating these things. I completely relate to what you said re ENFJs and ESFJs. Everything you said was spot on. I get along much better with and have actual connections and true fun with ENFJs whereas with ESFJs it feels forced. We just have nothing much in common. My stepmom is an ESFJ and we struggled a lot as I was growing up. She shuts down if I start doing any sort of Te AT ALL...probably in part because my Dad is ENTJ and she does not respect Te. She once told me "you are too much like your father". So, yeah, we share very few interests. I never felt connected with her. But over the years I've tried to find overlapping interests and turns out we both sort of like talking about cooking a little bit, but even then it's a bit forced for us both, not a true strong passion of either of ours so the conversations last about 3 minutes and we're done. But it's something. Then they'll tell me about what the neighbors and their friends are up to. I'm interested because it matters to them and I love them and I know some of the same people which is kinda interesting. And it's a way we can share time with my Dad all three of us. One thing I admire in her is the caring she shows to others when she is in a good mood. She can take things pretty personally sometimes when there is no need to but I like how Lindsey explained that probably comes from not having the intuition to be able to guess why someone is not reacting as expected. But she can be really sweet and warm with people and she has been there for at times when my Dad was not quite as warm. It's funny, she's more warm with me but even thought I feel less warmth from him, I still feel more connected and emotionally close with him. I can feel his love more even though he's got inferior Fi. I guess that's just because he's Dad. :-) It's like he will do one tiny little gesture and it communicates loads of love to me. I don't need him to Fe for me to feel his love. Fortunately my Dad is an ENTJ so we have the same functions and my Mom was an INFJ so we shared the Ni/Se axis so I felt understood by my parents. Thank God. My stepmom and I get along now that I'm older and have learned about the cognitive functions of each type. I will say that I somewhat enjoy the company of other ESFJs that I've worked with, but there is always a sense that they have no clue who I really am now would they care beyond the social obligation to care. One day I was talking to one of them and I mentioned how I'd accidentally put on mismatching socks because my mind was elsewhere when I was getting dressed that morning and she literally did not believe me. LOL She could not accept that someone would be in their mind that much. I just shook my head and smiled. On the other hand, I ADORE my ENFJ coworker. Definitely there's more of a connection there.

Lindsey, I'm an INTJ and am really good with Excel. You can totally do it with some practice. You've got that 6th spot Ti nit-picky perfectionism which comes in VERY handy for stuff like that. I feel like that helps approximate Si.

I can't tell you how many times I just sat there smiling as I listened to this conversation. So good. I love Fe when it's mixed with Ni. What can I say, I adore ENFJs and INFJs. You guys just are able to go deep with me and it's so fun and satisfying. Fe (especially dom) mixed with Si views me as alien I think LOL I love my ISFJ boss though. She's a sweetheart and for some reason she likes me too.

Absolutely! "If I'm making it happen for other people, I should be able to make it happen for myself". This is exactly what I said to myself several years ago when I started my 2nd business (I shut down the 1st one after just 2 years when realizing I wanted to go in a different direction). No need to make someone else's dream come true when I can make my own a reality. Such great advice!

Think it be better not to stereotype one into one of the 16 personality’s type as one can exhibit different traits from some of not most of the 16 personalities. one personality can change sometimes due to the mood or something happen on that day & it’s more to embracing a person as who he or she truly is rather than just labelling one into that personality as one personality can change as time passes by due to past experiences. How we can complement one another is seeing the other strengths and see how it can raise that in our area which we might not have and see the other person weakness as a person for his soul spiritual learning apart from being human too thank you.

Once you be more and more authentic and true to your true heart & others , you will see more clearly the others true heart or personality rather than trying to understand which personality the other party are cos there never be a true gauge or analysis of that person as no personality personality will be the same all the time depending on several factors or reasons on that moment thank you.
