Watch a different video if you want to learn about Che. I have no idea why this video has so many positive reviews. The entire presentation is thick with bias. It completely blows past the USA's policy in South America to assisinate political leaders- including those fairly and democratically elected- for the purpose of furthering their own power and influence in the region. And this man's suggestion that had Che "known the whole picture" about how "good" the American/capitalist system was, Che would not have clung to communism is narrow sighted ad disingenuous. Because he is completely ignoring the very real damage that was done to further the USA's hegemony across Latin America. His cavalier and self important attitude diminishes his presentation and calls into question the entire narrative. And the degrading comments- like the joke about Cuban cigars- only undermine his credibility further.

Agreed, absolutely riddled with biases. I mean to think that he spent his entire PhD researching this and couldn't answer questions about his nickname or number of wives shows that he went out with a preconceived narrative that he needed to back up with interviews from, perhaps those aggrieved Cuban Americans and their likes in Cuba.

Che was a vile, murderous individual. Although I wish the CIA has been able to bring him to the US for interrogation, no civilized human being mourns his death. And I am a fairly left-leaning person who wants Trump and his most rabid supporters (including several members of the US Congress, and Michael Flynn) locked away in ADX Supermax (since they won't be given a well-deserved capital sentence for high treason.) But Che was nothing deserving of admiration.

Didn't explain why the US was so hard up to catch Che. If they really wanted him alive, they would've have had him. All it would take was to buy him off the Bolivians. Sidenote just cause: In other Spanish-speaking countries, Che is the nickname for people named Jose or Josefa. For Guevara, it was cause he, as lots of Argentinians do, say Che! often in daily speak. Like in English we say, ok or hey or dude or wow. Same idea would be if we called Canadians, "Eh" :)

Che (/tʃeɪ/; Spanish: [tʃe]; Portuguese: tchê [ˈtʃe]; Valencian: xe [ˈtʃe]) is an interjection commonly used in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) and Valencia (Spain), signifying "hey!", "fellow", "guy". Che is mainly used as a vocative to call someone's attention (akin to "mate" or "buddy" in English), but it is often used as filler too (akin to "right" or "so" in English). The Argentine revolutionary Ernesto "Che" Guevara earned his nickname from his frequent use of the expression, which was perceived as foreign by his Cuban comrades.[

I remember Che when he visited my college in 1965/66 in India. A very charismatic, tall handsome man and chomping on a cigar. He was a hero of the university students and still is.

Oh really? What about Obama's bodycount? In Libya, in Syria? and GW Bush's bodycount? in Iraq? in Afhghanistan? And the Clintons' bodycount? in Serbia, in Iraq? in the USA? What about those? Can we say butcher? or maybe massmurderers is more "spot on"? Cheers.

re: "What about Obama's bodycount?" >> PAY attention to the subject at hand. YOU WANNA talk about 'big numbers'? LOOK at how many the National Socialists and Commies (incl Chicoms) killed in the 20th century. REMEMBER Tiananmen Square 1989 or no? You don't wanna talk about the commies do ya ...

@@uploadJ You're talking about different eras, different times, different notions of what is acceptable in the concert of nations. Stalin's murders are mostly pre-ww2. The human rights declaration wasn't a thing until 1948. How many did the "commies" killed since, say, 1990? How many countries did the commies invaded and/or destroyed since 1990?How many mass murders did the US commit and/or sponsored since 1990? (mostly in the name of greed and subjugation of countries that didn't want to go along with the petrodollar scam and the IMF scam?) Have you seen any commies invade or destroy any countries lately, or ever?

It is 'summary execution'. A summary execution is when a person is accused of a crime, and killed immediately, without a full and fair trial. Very often, summary executions happen in wartime. simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Summary_execution#:~:text=A%20summary%20execution%20is%20when,summary%20executions%20happen%20in%20wartime.

And the ticket prices for this museum are absolutely prohibitive. I really wanted to go while I lived in D.C. from 2010-2016, but it was so expensive, I couldn’t justify shelling out over $20 per ticket.
