I've really been enjoying watching the videos on this channel. As a fellow "Perfect Run" player other videos/streams tend to frustrate me as I see solutions that others tend to overlook. That only happens rarely on this channel and even when it does you still get the perfect victory which I put down to a difference in preference.

The beauty of ITB is the puzzle solving, and that there's rarely one solution. Optimal is always a point of contention too because there are different but still valid approaches.

@@reina4969 I've got about 400 hours total play time, and I feel that on average each playthrough is probably around 2 hours... so maybe 200. But the actual number is probably quite higher, because I abandon a lot of missions on the island 1... I'd say I abandon half at least. So the true number is probably 300-400.

Did they ever tell them that there are an infinite amount of timelines and you're going to spend an eternity fighting against the Vek? The Last Spell is reminiscient of this... I've been churning through these recently they're very impressive and helped me get a perfect run with the rift walkers. What do you think the easiest squad is and what's your favorite prebuilt squad. In addition, what's your favorite custom and what do you think the hardest one is.

@@juliomirelez1608 Thanks! Easiest squad for 30k, or just in general? In general, Rift Walkers or Rusting Hulks. They are both straightforward. For getting 30ks, probably Rusting Hulks or Flame Behemoths, because they are both powerful and include push and CC attacks. Favorite prebuilts, gotta be Flame Behemoths or Hazardous Mechs, and favorite custom, probably 3x Ice because it's hilarious. The hardest custom squad would be one that has no damaging attacks and also no push, so ... 3x Hook Mech would be max challenge.

It's a fantastic weapon. Sure, it's only got 1 shot. But it can lock down any Vek, anywhere on the map, or deny them access to an area. The reach alone makes it powerful, and since no Vek are immune to smoke, it gives you a lot of flexibility.

It seems to happen quite often on Hard, you will know it's going to happen because there will be a Vek adjacent to you when you drop, and there will be +1 Vek compared to normal on the field.

He's a welcome addition anywhere. I don't hardly ever use him, since the robot pilots are just so OP, but he's also great on SJ and HM because he adds damage to squads that can struggle with that.

All of the support tanks are powerful items. Of them, the Light Tank is probably the most powerful, because it combines pushing, damage, & HP for blocking, and the Shield Tank is probably the least powerful, as it is more situational and defensive only. However, all of them share a core benefit: An extra unit (and 3 extra HP) to block emerging Vek or tank a shot.

i finally won with these last night and this was the most difficult team ye. . going in order from left to right top to bottom, because their action economy and ability to do multiple things in 1 action seemed smaller than previous teams. it annoyed me how the flamethrower only does damage if the target is already on fire. and then i found that tank and i equipped it. . . and never used it. . because i thought i had to lose an action to deploy it but every turn had to use all 3 actions to deal with enemies. if i had known that the tank can be used on the same turn you deploy it, i would have not lost an action on that turn and gain an action for the rest of the battle. that is immensely powerful, and i threw mine away because i didn't know how to use it. . . i found a fire beam for my science mech, thinking that would have good synergy, but that was the most stressful one that imstill won and didn't lose. i mean, yeah, i still lose sometimes, but i'm winning most nirmal mode runs now. honestly, hard mode doesn't seem mich harder than normal mode. . or rather normal mode doesn't seem mich easier than hard. unfair mode is insane thoughh, which i guess might be why you only have 3 vids of that difficulty done(?) or did you just get tired of doing these?

For this squad and Steel Judoka, I have the mantis pilot in the science mech and blast through the first 2 island easily with the extra damage upfront.

replaying this game and these damn mechs give me a headache. Somehow the Steel Judoka were easier to manage despite having basically the same strategy. What kind of upgrades do you look out for in the reputation screen?

I didn't realise you could upgrade the tanks' health either. That seems to make them pretty overpowered.

Highest target upgrades are those that give me a push/pull/movement that I don't currently have. So if a mech's primary attack is a push, I look for something that can pull, or smoke. If a mech is melee-only, I look for something that helps its movement. Positioning is often as important as damage output, so Boosters are frequently as powerful as a damage upgrade. I'm considering doing an ITB 101 series that goes over all of this.

Man I just don’t get it. This is amazing play but I swear there is no way of getting a perfect score on sone levels with this squad. Immediately 3 threats first round which all have to be dealt with, no chance to suppress or light up enemies and next round there are 6 threats to deal with. Is there sone setting I’m missing here?
