Love your videos, decided to post a comment for the algorithm. I wanted to see if grid damage could be avoided in the first turn of the Corporate HQ mission and this took a while to find. 1. Move the Napalm Mech to E6 and shoot E3. This would push the Scorpion and set fire to the Scorpion, E2, and E3. This should also Boost the Dispersal Mech but not be necessary. 2. Move the Dispersal Mech to E3 and the Quick-Fire Mech to C6. 3. The Dispersal Mech then attacks C3 (and D3). Both the Mosquito and the Starfish Leader are pushed to D4 and C4 respectively. Boost effect is likely wasted and the fire on E3 would be consumed when the mech arrives. 4. The Quick-Fire Mech attacks C5 and C8. This will damage the Starfish Leader and both 'Sand' tiles will produce Smoke. This should cancel the attacks of the Starfish Leader and the Mosquito. The Scorpion will attack another Sand tile (F2) and create more Smoke. Only health damage caused will be 1 to the Leader and 1 to the Scorpion (which is also on fire).

That is amazing. Wis I had seen that. often forget about the smoke tiles . And if you keep the quickfire mech in its place until it moves to attack, you can actually add one bump damage to the mosquito when the dispersal pushes it into it! Thanks for writing!

It's interesting to see how differently people play mech squads! I tend to use this squad as denial, and step into the fire for the boost rather than spraying the fire on my mechs.
@conjecturemm2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I think replaying this squad I would have played them as a positional squad instead of a damage squad. Also I probably should have tried to make their fire boost incidental rather than intentional. Oh well, next time!

Use fire to block buildings, AI will never place unit in fire tiles.

On the HQ map too stop the star fish. Artillery mech to 3-G shoot 3-E. Prime mech to 3-E Shoot 3-C. Brute mech to 5-E Shoot C-5 and whatever else covers star fish in smoke.

Maybe you've said this somewhere and I haven't seen it, but out of all 14 teams, which is your favorite and least favorite team?

I haven't played the new spider mechs so I can't say about them. But out of all 13 I have played? The Frozen Titans and Mist Eaters

This squad gave me hardest time of the new ones... Did not enjoy its playstyle at all. The other squads are a lot of fun though...
@conjecturemm2 жыл бұрын
I think I played them wrong, too. I thought that they were more of a damage output squad because of their passive, but I think in reality they're more of a positioning squad. If I had played them like that from the beginning, the run probably would have been much easier

@@conjecturemm I agree. I thought the exact same thing, but in that context the boost mechanic feels very out of place: The artillery mech is the only one capable of generating fires and therefore boosts. Generally speaking the best play for that mech would be to boost two others and move an enemy. But if I put the other two mechs in a line they lose their effectiveness because they are extremely positional and dont synergize at all when next to each other. The damage output if the squad is pretty lacking and at the same time the pushes are a bit gimmicky. In my opinion either the flamethrower should burn the ground and do no damage to buildings from the start, or the quickshot should be able to push... It just feels awkward because the mechanics are not really synergizing well so far...

@@conjecturemm I didn't like it at first but it feels like it finds its stride with power cores, like a long game core hungry team. Dispersal Mech desperately wants the fire upgrade online so it can chase its own flames, become a pseudo 2 damage unit (3 when boosted) and help Napalm provide a lot more fire tile options. Baseline it feels like a bad artillery with fewer push angle options and only 1 non-push damage in direct aim, but range 4 1 damage + fire and side push is pretty great. Napalm plays like a Flame Mech with the 1 core range upgrade already, and then still has the cheap core upgrade on top, so using it directly to push 2 health enemies and leave them for dead works great but doing it at longer range and leaving strips of fire tiles is desperately needed for the squad as a whole. Good thing the range upgrades are cheap. While with the Flame Behemoths I'd prioritise islands with 1-2 health minions in general, the Heat Sinkers feel married to Archive Inc. as a start for forest tiles to set on fire and plenty of pit hazards, though Detritus is a good secondary with all of the acid and objectives that help you kill. Anything where you can confidently go for the high rep rewards to buy as many cores as possible.

This squad is the hardest by far. The new weakest squad of the game. They make easy situations into hard ones so many times. Mist eaters on the other hand are the most OP squad of the game.
