This doc made me cry. It was so well done. The end with the ashes just choked me. I would have broken into that woman’s house and gotten then rest of my baby. That woman Brenda is out of her mind! And should also be held accountable. She’s responsible too. Smh

Gosh! Couldn’t stop crying watching this. What an amazing documentary, the tenacity of Cathy and the heartless of Brenda.

I was so pissed that Cathy only got half of her ashes. That note and the phone call was such a slap in the face. He’s like well she threw her away first. Like she was literally only trash to Dennis and Brenda. I was like I’d break into her house and take them lol. She doesn’t deserve to even be called a mother for what she did and how complacent she is in the whole situation. She should go to jail herself.

Absolutely. I can’t imagine standing by a man after abusing a woman/girl. The bio mother was an incredible advocate

When I say this documentary pissed me off, that's no exaggeration. Just knowing that if that man had been kept locked up/held accountable, the other girls/women would be alive and not traumatized- it is infuriating.

this was an excellent doc! i honestly thought at first that the little sister was going to to be revealed as Aundrias because of something 1 of the parents said, something like " why would you leave when you've got a baby at home?" but after watching the whole thing, i think it just goes to show how much Aundria loved and took care of her little sister
@stacyhernandez73382 ай бұрын
Brenda was complicit in Aundria’s abuse. Obviously no woman wants to believe their husband could SA their adopted daughter but he went to jail in 1980 for assaulting an 18 year old. Right then and there her devotion to him should’ve stopped. I don’t think she cared that much about Aundria especially after she had her daughter. All the abuse that the friends witnessed that Brenda was there and saw, she is complicit in not protecting Aundria. Thank goodness Cathy got on the case.

This was one of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen. It’s up there with the Jinx for me. It is so sad to me that Kathy was pressured to give her baby up for adoption by her own mother. That is her granddaughter! This documentary was so well done and Kathy is an amazing Mom!!

This was an incredible documentary. Dennis is a real disgusting piece of work, and so is his wife Brenda. Her loyalty to him is like no other. We quickly seen the person he becomes when he attacks these women and girls when Brenda knows everything. His demeanour towards her changes so fast like a switch. Aundrie’s biological Mother is so fierce and exactly what a real Mum is, she is incredible.

I just finished it and had to see what you thought. I am the same when it comes to true crime documentaries, having interviews and including people affected by the crimes of this monster. As with everyone else, I found myself in tears by the end. Cathy’s determination is relentless and because of this, the police were able to solve the case in Va as well as his other crimes against women.

Literally every time Brenda quotes her, she uses a mocking tone. You wouldn't do that if you weren't victim blaming in your head the entire time. You wouldn't do that if you only held love and concern for your child. She created that narrative to allow herself to ignore what was happening. I know, because it happened to my wife. Parents create "lazy, disrespectful, stupid" narratives about their children, to excuse their abuse, neglect or to have disdain for their children.

I loved when Cathy declared to know the mind of Dennis Bowman. She said, “He thinks he owns her…”, because I knew she went straight into the mind of that man and sussed him out. I also loved when she said that anger doesn’t need to be fed. She is a force to be reckoned with.

Such a great documentary, such a unique story. For awhile I was kind of giving Brenda the benefit of the doubt because she seemed like she needed deep therapy, I mean that’s got to be traumatizing to be married to that man. But by the end of the documentary, she’s just a really pathetic person, like she doesn’t need therapy to know right from wrong. Cathy is amazing, truly amazing.

I absolutely fell in love with this woman. A boomer woman with a voice is my new favorite thing. Being the daughter of boomers and being told your whole like to “be a good girl” and shammed for every opinion you have that didn't go with the flow really sucked. To see this woman fight and ruffle feathers was therapy for me. God bless her and Aundria.

I found the 1st episode the most triggering thing I've ever watched. I had to keep stopping it. I was angered at the adoptive mom "sharing" the ashes. It wasn't meant as a nice gesture, I think. It was controlling, a judgement, last jab kind of thing. The documentary though, wow. Superbly done!

It was very well done.. it wasnt filled with repetitive fluff and it pulled you along the story line very clearly. They interviewed everyone that brought good value to the documentary it wasnt the reporters just retelling the story 😴 The adoptive mom was delulu.. how much she stood beside the killer/rapist husband is 😮 Kudos to the detectives who pick up cold cases, who reenters evidence into forensics to get the info needed to catch the killers..

This pissed me off on so many levels. Then fact that they gave the remains to the other monster( Brenda) who never protected her or believed her is disgusting to me. I wanted to crawl through the tv. They victimized her til the end. When that monster said she threw her away I lost it. Brenda is just as low as him; just as sick. She knew he was molesting Alexis. She knew he beat her for God’s sakes. Her true mother solved this case and she deserved to have her daughter back.
