Actually not every element in us is from the stars *sigh* It's actually all from the big bang. Bear with me. So the Big Bang happens and basically creates all the mass in the universe. Right now its all energy, no matter just yet (its really hot). Now eventually after the dark ages (its fairly cold now as our universe is now),(like 300,000 years post-big bang), we start getting gaseous clouds of hydrogen that are slowly accrueing mass. Before we continue we need to recap what we currently have in the universe: we have photons (visible light and invisible light!), hydrogen, helium, and trace quantities of lithium. These gas clouds begins to coalesce into larger and larger clusters of hydrogen (and some helium) gas, until eventually because there is so much in such densities, you have higher temperatures which means...ionization. The gas begins to turn to plasma and now we have a fusion reaction; the hydrogen is fusing into helium. Now this creates the star, and it is now expanding quickly, until it reaches a point where the nuclear fusion cannot sustain further expansion in the star, and gravity wins. This is called hydrostatic equilibrium. Gravity can't press it inwards, nor can the forces created from nuclear fusion sustain expansion. Eventually the star runs out of hydrogen to fuse into helium, and then it e x p a n d s. Then you get the helium fusing into more massive elements, such as carbon, oxygen, up to iron. Then, once the helium has been fused there is nothing left to sustain the reaction. The star implodes, no longer sustaining the hydrostatic equilibrium...and then...b o o m. Now these elements have been scattered via the planetary nebula* (*misnomer term for low mass nova event), and they can propogate our universe. This is very watered down explanation and doesn't even delve into intermediate and high mass stars (these guys end up with some spicier conditions (neutron stars and black holes respectively). So yeah. You came from the big bang, eventually all the mass that makes you up was fused in the cores of stars and...smaller bangs and booms allowed for the mass to arrive on Earth where it has been inherited by plenty of other species before you existed. Now you have been enlightened. Watch Professor Dave explains videos on cosmology and astronomy if you want to know more.

And Starfield should be a perfect point to begin, because it will likely have a diverse collection of environments in the form of planets, like hot planets, cold planets, exotic insects that give you unknown diseases that are more than just a Strength or Agility debuff, black holes, quasars, neutron stars, etc. I really hope they take full advantage of the diversity and harsh conditions of space to make it feel like a real universe.

To be fair, BGS has always packed their games to the brim with things to do (besides Fallout76). So I could expect them to fill the world up with places to explore, quests to do, characters to meet. They're also fairly good at environmental storytelling as well, so I'd expect some of that too. I'm wondering if they'll be able to make this really feel like you're in an open world tho. I know that's usually their specialty, however on a planetary level? Unless there is some procedural tech going on, I don't see them handcrafting whole planets. Which could work too. With procedural, it really comes down to how its used.

Guys, your creativity so much echoes with mine! 1 - I love how Todd make a reference to the fact that we all are made of star stuff 2. - I love the fact that colors in Starfield logo come gradually from blue (blueshift) to red (redshift) Most of all, I would like to see in the game a real adventure to the world of unknown, something that our ancestors experienced when discovering new lands - with fears, anxiety, but also curiosity and bravery. I want the narrative to have the Interstellar type tone with both being about space and new world, but also about us, about the meaning of "human" and "humanness" in the vastness of Cosmos..

@@shriyanshpandey112 That’s what I mean, Skyrim’s final product simply didn’t look anywhere near as epic or as large scale as it does in most of the concept art. I’m not saying Skyrim isn’t epic in scope or ambition because it absolutely is, but there’s a great disconnect between artist‘s interpretation of this huge fantasy universe and the technical limitations of a game running on fairly primitive technology by today’s standards released during a time when the technology to create truly gigantic and deep game worlds just didn’t exist yet. But now, apparently, it does exist. With this new hardware and updated game engine… maybe the concept art will end up looking bland in comparison to the final game, which is a real possibility given that the in engine trailer we were shown actually looks really fuckin good, bordering on photorealism to be honest.

@@afungai1649 actually the only city that actually seems big is the city with the night time. Other ones like the ocean one and the mountain one aren't very big I think. Maybe the ocean one seems like solitude size The mountain one actually seems like Dragon Bridge to me. And the rural one looks like Riverwood. That's my interpretation, they will most likely be bigger due to the better hardware. But I hope they don't have Cyberpunk 2077 like npcs.

Well, in an interview, Todd said that the game would “offer role playing like Skyrim.” So it will probably suck as an rpg. Perhaps Thr Outer Worlds has spoiled me role playing-wise, but god if the level of roleplaying in Starfield is comparable to Skyrim’s then we’re not in for a treat.

The second I left the planet on my first play through I decided that the main mentor character was a lunatic, and used all of my money saved up at the time to pay my way into the capitol and turn him into the authorities, and became an agent of death for the big bad guy, doing their bidding and fighting for them for the rest of the game. I don’t see Skyrim allowing you to join the Thalmor or Alduin, or even Miraak. And the first time I played I accidentally killed the guards that so was supposed to help by the ship because I mistook them for generic marauders. An incident inspector later came by and I convinced him that they killed themselves. Later the mayor of the town mistook me for a lowly employee in his dialogue because I was wearing the guards’ armor. Details like that are completely absent in Bethesda games. That’s just a couple examples that I simplified to avoid spoilers.

@@UntrainableWizard Insiders (And now Todd himself in an interview) had been saying that in Starfield, BGS has gone back to their RPG roots, that Starfield's skill/traits system is actually much more similar to Oblivion, much more focused on the Hardcore RPG mechanics. Also as your created character's background story that you give them will affect certain things for your character later in the game.

Todd and the Team, you have no idea how long i've dreamt of a Space RPG made by you. Every RPG you make in my opinion is literal God Level. I live and breathe TES and always will. Im a bIg fan of Mass Effect and other great Space Rpgs but I always said, "What If Bethesda Did It?!" This will be complete perfection in my opinion and I already know it. Simple as that. Amazing trailer, amazing emotional connection you always express about your Worlds Todd. Just well said and well done. Collectors Edition here I come! Can't wait!
