Looks like a winner. Crunchy, but not overly so and awesome graphics. Definitely will be next purchase.

I saw early production of this at the recent Historicon 2024 by Blue Panther. I didn't purchase as I was after Vive L'Empereur. But I was pretty tempted as it's pitched as miniatures-style wargame. Thanks for the review, pretty tempted to get it.

Most excellent. I think the orders mechanics work really well and simulate the fog of war/difficulty of controlling groups of infantry in combat. This whole system is really excellent. I've also found it super easy to play solo. I can't stop playing mine either! I mean, on top of just the tactical excellence of the game it's really fun to play and also really creates a narrative as you do. You start to really like and dislike certain units, haha! Wait til you get to go against someone head to head! I'm finding that this game works super well tactically and I love how the counters and space points just naturally cause your lines to move and shift with the terrain. It 100% feels like linear warfare with the grind and attritional nature of it. And visually the effect is stunning. I've visited Gettysburg, and the Wheatfield itself many times and I think this game really captures it. That small low bowl at the corner of the Wheatfield and Stony Hill is a very deadly place. Colonel John Wheeler of the 20th Indiana was killed in the Wheatfield and was born and is buried just a couple miles from my birthplace so they are one of my favored regiments! I'm going to set up this scenario and run it myself and I can let you know how it goes!

That's awesome - I would love to visit Gettysburg (I have been to the States many times but never Gettysburg). I think this is very quickly becoming one of my favourite games of the year. Thank you so much for the recommendation.

@@MattWhiteWargames You bet! I just want more people to discover it and enjoy it so we get more, haha! The possibilities are endless as I can think of literally 100 micro battles within the large ones just off the top of my head. This system can allow battles that have never been done in a wargame before! I would chew off my left leg to get the fight for the Bliss Farm at Gettysburg, which I know has never been done. The game has jumped right to the top of my favorites of the year too. I watch your channel and I knew you would really like this one! And you definitely should make a trip to Gettysburg if you are in the States again. It's well worth it. You can feel the heaviness still there as soon as you enter the battlefield. I actually reenacted for years and have visited most of the major battlefields at some point. It's my favorite hobby next to wargaming. And just FYI from a history nerd, the northern troops never called themselves the Union Army or Union soldiers, that came after the war. They always referred to themselves as the United States or the US Army.

@@MattWhiteWargames Oh! And I meant to say that Hermann already said he's thinking about using the system for Napoleonics and Franco-Prussian, Austro-Prussian Wars too! :)
