Encouraging Ourselves - Dr. Charles Stanley

There are times in life when we choose to go it alone because we believe there is no one to turn to. Our first response to a difficult situation is often to react and make snap decisions. However, our best response should always be to turn to the Lord and seek His guidance.
In this message, “Encouraging Ourselves,” Dr. Stanley reminds us that God is our Shield and Protector and He promises to guide us through difficult times. Any time we’re willing to acknowledge our inadequacy and ask the Lord to give us direction, He will. Instead of relying on our abilities, we need to rely on His. Looking back on God’s track record of faithfulness can be a valuable source of encouragement during challenging times. When we have no one else to turn to, we can find encouragement by going to the Lord for guidance.

I died from overdose, Narcan would not work. The EMTs were already en route to the Morgue with my body. I sat up. The Good and Heavenly Father has a plan for my life. It took me almost 7 years but I will have 3 years clean in August. All Glory to God! Nothing is coincidence. Our Creator works everything for your good. I am now in school to become a peer counselor to help addicts get from active use to employed and working for purpose, His will for their lives. I am grateful for the abuse abandonment betrayal and loss in my life bc it took every bit of it to be the person I am today. God was and is preparing me to help all of those lost lost souls. He gives you the vision in small parts that you can handle. I cannot wait to see what the next season of my Life and what Yahweh ( There are a lot of gods) has in store for me. He is so GOOD! The Holy Spirit brings me Revelation and Knowledge but He also Comforts me when times get tough and gives me Strength to do the things that are for Him! Jesus can be your best best friend... He's Mine!...lol. We have a kind caring long-suffering merciful graceful God. If he can do it for me a horrible wretched person, He can do it for you!!¡

Maybe God is trying to tell you something, that's why you might get an uneasy feeling. Don't be quick to say this is better than that. Pray that the Lord prepare your heart for what He wants to tell you, not how you want to hear it. At the end of the day if coming from the Almighty Lord God there is no better way to receive His message other than what He has placed in front of you. What I'm saying is don't be quick to change the channel or not be as ready to hear what a person has to say about God just because you don't like the preaching style, it might just be what you needed. I went through the military and law enforcement agencies with Dr Stanley, he was my earthly rock and fortress given by God. Where I would go in this dark world, I would search for In Touch ministry with Dr Stanley. Dr Stanley and In Touch ministry truly was a light in this dark world. What would of been pretty cool is if you told them that you heard everything but during that same conversation you told them that you forgive them. That would have heaped the largest bunch of burning coals on them. I have to admit that you are one strong person. I don't know that I could of kept it quiet. I guess I need some prayers also. :-) It's never fun and very hurtful for this being done to you, and I'm sorry for your pain. What we both don't know is what has happened in that person's life along the way to be able to do such a thing so hurtful. There is usually a backstory in a person's life when this happens. Blessings. I just want to share that my youngest son(who is 24yrs old) Surrender to Jesus and now is a Child of the Most High God. I am so. so happy as a Mom who never stopped hoping and praying for my kids Salvation. I have 2 Sons who are Saved. Now I just need my daughter and her husband to surrender To Jesus!! When I was in college, I went to school with 50 pesos on my pocket. I don't want to miss school at that time so I ask my mother 50 pesos just to be in school and i didn't thought at that time how and what to ate. So I prayed and said Lord I don't know what to do, I don't know where to go, your the only one who can help me, I only have 20 pesos left on my pocket, I have nothing to eat. During lunch while walking with my friends I saw 250 pesos on the street, I can't imagine at that time, there are thousand of students walking at that time and I know it was the Lord. At that moment I said thank you Lord. Trully it is God will provide.

The sowing principal is no joke. Before coming to Jesus I made so many stupid choices and behaved so terribly. Today, even though I know the Lord now, and He has given me grace and is molding me to His character, I still can identify when I am reaping something from by past bad actions. We may get grace but some consequences aren't going to change. 🙏🏻 So I'm grateful for Romans 8:28 to cling to because I now that even if I reap bad consequences in my life from past decisions at least I know that God is truly using it all for good one way or another🩷🙏🏻

I had been listening for a few years to the Bible teachings of Mr. Camping, until he got off track from the Word. I thank my mother, who after that, in around 2010, suggested Dr. Stanley's teaching of the Bible. His sermons and Bible teachings have helped and guided me since that time. The best way to stay encouraged is by consulting with the Lord to get wisdom, guidance and strength from Him. Another way that I try to keep myself encouraged is by encouraging others. If we inquire God for guidance with no intention to obey, but rather just to see what His will would be in any given situation, or if we think we could make a decision whether to obey Him or not after knowing what He wants us to do, or if we think we could keep His will/guidance/counsel as an option, then He would NEVER reveal it to us. He only reveals His will to those who intend to obey it no matter what. If we do not intend to obey His will and yet seek His will and He will not reveal it to us, then there is a possibility of the devil trying to fill in and guide us away from what God's good will is. Then we naiively imagine it was God, and feel happy that what was "revealed" is such a wonderful thing and we immediately start to go about doing it and ultimately fall into heavy loss in indescribable ways. And by this time many years would have passed.
