I was actually about to type “it’s interesting” lol It’s like the deciders can be crazier with the things because they just don’t put much weight into it. He said he filled his house 3 times with I guess random shit like what was in the interview. Nothing stressful about that. So are observers just that nonchalant with people? Like “yeah I cut that guy off” who cares! It’s like we learn to care and then learn not to care.

An Observer can tolerate other's opinions / self image / I'm better here, you're better there kind of dynamics, but will cut someone off if that person is a risk to the Observer's comfort getting disrupted / his vision getting ruined / his lifestyle being limited / and so on. Walter White from Breaking Bad is an Observer (IJ). A Decider will tolerate chaos / boredom and will find balance between those two forces, but will cut someone off if that person makes the Decider feel bad about himself / ruins the Decider's relationships with others. Typical Decider stereotype is Skyler from Breaking Bad (EJ).

I LOVE where you're going with all this, Dave- it's such a relief! Been watching your channel for a few years now, but there's so much I don't entirely agree with- but I think that your going in the right direction, here. From MY POV! Look at things more deeply- don't just count words or whatever- look at the points of things, and what goes (I suppose) unresolved, in how people talk and act. One thing: I'd say that... leaving problems unresolved, might just be to acknowledge that they weren't problems to begin with. 'Cause there's this difference, in certain strands of philosophy, between different sorts of issues: I'd call them Problems and Mysteries. A "Problem" is something with a definite solution- like a Sudoku or a math equation or whatever; whereas a "Mystery"- as I've heard it explained (in Dorothy Sayers' Mind of the Maker, for example)- is something like a situation that to solve it always involves ourselves, in some way. Think about the question of, say, Equality and Egalitarianism: there's plenty of neat arguments- "Owning with Facts and Logic" -on both sides, but at the end of the day a lot of it boils down to who you are and what your life experience is. Were you raised poor & needy or wealthy & comfortable? Highly Intellectual or with the idea you're supposed to navigate things with the Bible, or with Common Sense? Not going down on either side, I hope, you can still see how these things might weigh you down, and make it hard to... come up with some sort of clear, definite answer to things... even if their is such an answer (which there probably is!). That you can't have that answer, without coming to terms with who you are, how your answer impacts those around you... etc. (hope this doesn't start a rabbit trail- this is just an example!) SO! Thus, it might be that... say, Single Deciders are leaving "Problems"- problems with definite solutions, unresolved- "All you need to do is apologize!" "Sure she was a jerk to you, but move on with your life!"; but it might also be, that being so much of an expert on one side of these issues, that they're seeing that certain things CAN'T be resolved! A Ti-Dom, say, might see that there are certain things that being sure of their own reasons just... leave weird, either in their own actions, or in those of other peoples. For this to bother them, for it to remain of endless fascination- even to be something that they'd find worth savoring and celebrating, in certain cases- all that makes sense, and is not a problem. Ditto, of course, for the Single Observers and Things. So, cool video... I just thought that my comment MIGHT (potentially) be helpful.

I wandered across this channel after seeing a review(?) of Growling Sidewinder, who I watch because he's actually pretty good at "dogfighting" for being an amateur. That, and the title said GS was an INTJ, and I'm apparently an INTJ based on some MBTI assessment a chaplain once had me take, so my curiosity was piqued. Thought the video was hilarious because GS is so low key when he's getting splashed, but having watched a few of the videos of this channel, I feel like I'm listening to someone talk about horoscopes. What the hell does it all mean? Do you have a video or a few videos where you define your terms? What the hell is the male/female yin/yang stuff (aside from the obvious as it relates to Paul Reubens)?

Welcome to the rabbit hole, my friend. They have a website where you can get full access to all their content for $19.00 a month. (which is usually about 40 minutes of content every week split between two 15 minute videos dedicated to typing a person, and two random 10 to 15 minute videos of Dave talking about a random person/topic.) I would say watch through more of their content on KZbin before diving into that. As far as horoscopes go, their goal is to separate themselves as much as possible from that sort of community by typing based off of provable things that people do/say/how they act. It's not really easy to understand or follow and takes a long time because you have to really be able to understand the terms they are using, and since there are so many, it takes forever. Also the male female stuff is just being masculine and aggressive towards others (the tribe), or being masculine towards yourself, aka pushing yourself internally. Likewise, masculine sensory is pushing on physical reality, (may like to smash things for instance) or being pushy with ideas, which is defined as lack of being pushy with the sensory. These M (masculine) and F (feminine) parts are not a super important for the typing checklist. I wouldn't take them super seriously, as they just don't mean too much.

Ah I see. I do think it might be a little unnecessary, Observer/Decider seems like it would be sufficient to describe the same thing. But basically I think what they are saying is that if you're top function is a decider function then you are a single decider/double observer because you have one decider function in your top three and two observer functions in the center (making them balanced).

@@martingifford5415Observing is observing. Passive perception. Sitting back. Taking it all in. It's all about gathering information and patterns. Sensory data and intuition/patterns. No action on your part required. Deciding is deciding. Active judgment. Yes or no decisions. Greater-than or less-than value judgments. Choosing, valuing, solving. Thinking and feeling. Action on your part required. "Single deciders" lead with a deciding function and then follow with 2 observer functions. Thus single deciders = "double observers." Example: Lead iNtuition, followed by Thinking and Feeling. "Single observers" lead with an observer function and follow with 2 decider functions. Thus single observers = "double deciders." Example: Lead Feeling, followed by iNtuition and Sensing. INTP = Thinking (Ti) lead, thus INTPs are single deciders. What double observers do they have? INtuition (Ne) and Sensing (Si). ENTP = iNtuition (Ne) lead, thus ENTPs are single observers. What double deciders do they have? Thinking (Ti) and Feeling (Fe). Hope that helps..
@ChristopherWaddelow
@ChristopherWaddelow Жыл бұрын
I'll try to write it out visually for you, and maybe that will help. I was confused by it for a while too. If we take an INTP, they have: Ti/Ne/Si/Fe So the first function is a D for deciding function, the second and third are O for Observing function, the last is D for a deciding function. Ti = D Ne = O Si = O Fe = D It can be written out simply as D/O/O/D Or DOOD If you notice the two middle ones are O for observing. This would be a double Observer, because they have both observing functions in the middle making them relatively balanced with observations. Double Observers have them both in the middle, same with Double Deciders they have two deciding functions in the middle. Then everything I have explained would be reversed for the Single Observers. D/O/O/D = double Observer, single Decider, or just Decider for short. O/D/D/O = double Decider, single Observer, or just Observer for short.
