Setting a goal and seeing yourself fail really is the best growth experience. Edit: That’s all I really took from the video. Yeah, Kanye is crazy, we’re all crazy, that’s people, whatever. The scientific method is like vegetables: maybe that’s something like you Dave and other Te’s like Arnold are drawn to. I’m trying to discover life’s truths myself. Even if there was someone telling us all the answers like you, we got to fall on our face first for us to listen and for it to really stick. That’s the beauty of the hero’s journey; there are no shortcuts. But the most important thing as you said is objectivity, and objectivity in the form of an individual manifests as self-accountability. And, as a Di, it’s looking at the spectrum of the tribe, realizing that there’s people far ahead of you, and then figuring out how you can reach their level through trial and error. As a double decider, my way of seeing the sensory is through people: I usually can’t see the REAL sensory reason why I fail and am quick to make an Ni know-it-all excuse, but I can recognize that someone else would’ve handled things better and strive to be that type of person. That all sounds great, but the best Te advice would be to tackle your last animal. What Kanye needs to do is some self-reflection and not always be in that fight-or-flight Play state all of the time like you said. And, for a Play last like me, it was realizing that I don’t get enough shit done, and that I have to embrace that primitive, sexual, hyperactive, extroverted SF state to stay motivated (or rather disciplined) in order to realize my NT goals.

Where a lot of cultures in the past may have been a little bit too stuck in the fixed mindset, I actually think our current culture on the other hand is stuck in the growth mindset. In our current (western) culture for example, people often teach their children that 'they can become anything they want' while such things are simply not true. Sure, there are things you where it's helpful to grow as a person. However, at the same time it's wise to also acknowledge the fixed truths in the fixed mindset. However, once you look at the the picture of the fixed mindset in 9:44 it can be seen that _all the sentences in that picture are purposefilly phrased negatively to give the impression they are inferior to the growth mindset, whilst the growth mindset of course has all it's sentences phrased positively_ . For example, the growth mindset describes: "I keep trying and never give up", which on first instance _sounds_ like a good thing. However, if you have no talent for something like let's say singing and you spend your whole life not giving up on becoming a famous singer, then your life will just consist of consistant dissapointment. This clearly showcases the weaknesses of the growth minset and the strengths of the fixed mindset. The fixed mindset says things like 'failture is the limit of my abilities ' and 'I am either good at it or not', which of course do not sound so cool, but are actually often enough true too, like in the case with the person that has no talent to sing. I think some people are more likely to get too stuck in the fixed mindset while others will more likely get too stuck in the growth mindset. However, in both cases you are going in circles, yet different circles. Basically, in the growth mindset you will incorrecly view things as changable while in reality some things are simply not changable, while in the fixed mindset you view all things as unchanable when some of them are. In the growth mindset you will be deluded to think you have control over everything and in the fixed minset you will deluded to think you essentially have no control over anything. However, Both views are equally invalid. In reality it's more likely you will have control over half of the things while have no control over the other half of things. I see the same problem as the 'glass is half' full vs the 'glas is half empty' . Of course everyone wants to view the glass as half full becasue that feels better, but both as just as much colored perspectives and neither of them are actually realistic. To come back to the cultural change when it comes to these mindsets, I do believe a good portion of unhappiness these days comes from people thinking they should be able to achieve things when it's maybe simply not in the cards for them due to limited abilities or circumstances. However, by constantly thinking they should be able to achieve what others have achieved, they are constantly kept in that state of uncertainty, which can lead to unhappiness. They will constantly feel needlessly bad about themselves while essentially had no influence over it to begin with. If they knew it simply was not in the cards for them it's likely they would find it difficult at first, but eventually get over it and accept it. After that they could focus on things that are realistically possible for them, which will increase their chance of happiness becaue they can actually reach them.. I could name many more issues with the growth mindset, but unfortunately I am not being paid for typing these comments so I'm gonna end the comment before I write a book here ;)

Exactly and somethings areout of your control as well. I’m a decider (INFP), and I somehow cannot keep friends. Having masculine Fi is fun because I can do what I want and people don’t seem to like it. If want to drive 45 minutes in traffic to New York City just to talk to you, I will. Now, if I go out and try to make friends at place I’ve never been at, I don’t want to be, and still be myself, reach out, and get rejected (even if my sole desire was to make friends) at some point, it’s not my fault. If you don’t accept me for me, you’re the one judging, and casually putting up a wall from me. Why’s that? I’m being myself. I hate talking to people I trust and they just say “go out there and just make friends, it’s easy”. If it was easy, I wouldn’t be complaining about it. That’s like telling a demon Fi’er to be confident.

I'm hearing a whole lot of subjectivity though: _"Listen to Arnold, don't listen to Kanye."_ Yeah, obviously - because Arnold is so balanced and bright... As it happens Kanye brought up a very _significant_ point on academia that has been glossed over - namely how teaching kids to repeat arbitrary information dulls their intelligence & curiosity, and it also makes them "top-heavy." This is a major issue for anyone with genuine spiritual ambitions, as it takes months-at-best to de-program and un-learn what's been taught assuming you're even bright enough to see the issue in the first place. We've had highly intellectual societies in the west over the last century, while ignoring teaching kids how to handle their emotions or how to survive. If you're not an academic sort - meaning an enneagram head-type - you're pretty much F'd. You have no reason at all to get a degree while your other needs aren't being met. But while it's true that the academic sorts entertain various advantages in our contemporary societies they simultaneously suffer far more from indoctrination, and become unbearably arrogant and insular towards everybody else, mingling only with others like themselves. They don't even suspect that the uneducated could know anything of value, at all, and proceed to crap all over them. Today everyone spends decades studying. It's been this way ever since the Rock. E.Fellers changed academia to make people into socialists and get women to pay taxes. Yeah general education is mightily off-balance, and it's a problem. There's many problems with it. So kudos to Kanye for saying something so insightful that it flies over everybody else, despite how everyone has suffered the consequences of it over the last hundred years. It is almost unbelievable that people go through school without picking up on how imbalanced it is, and continue to put their kids through the same ordeal.

People do know that education is unbalanced. It's just that there's no alternatives. Benchmarks still need to be reached.
@juliansanderson839

@@orangeziggy348 Why do you believe that there are no alternatives? the conversation itself is what actualizes the possibility of alternative solutions. 'they who think they can and they who think they can't are both correct' and all that. there are many feasible alternatives we can consider if we just... consider them.

Ne-Fi. Fi parent Kanye. Do what you love, trust your feelings. Furthermore, notice Kanye is always trying to control narrative, which is what Ne does. He talks about a variety of abstract concepts and communicates to the tribe (Ne) engineering is objective, education should be objective, all Ne-Te communication to tribe. Notice how childish the Te is, there isn't a lot of fundament to it (Te child).
