INTRO 2 Clicks Out: Sport Touring Suspension Setups on some Euro motorcycles

3 mates dropped by the track to get their suspension tuned on their way out of town for some sport touring in Northern California; brand new Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory with electronic suspension, KTM Super Duke R, and a Ducati Hypermotard 821.

OMG. Dear Dave(s), I guess you meet all types of riders…. The “tolerance”, shown, when setting up bikes for wannabe street Rossi’s was impeccable. I still smile today when I hear how “good riders”, on expensive quick, modern bikes think they are. Especially, if they have done several laps around my old home racetrack (Phillip island) and they say how quick they are. Up until the point of lap times. As an old saying goes “ if you can get around the track in under 2 minutes, you can ride”. When I hear times above, and simply point to times 10 seconds quicker (on a 250 production bike), they simply don’t understand. 👍😎🇦🇺

A mate did a track day at Eastern Creek and thought he did well till I told him Mick Doohan would have lapped him in 4 laps, the stopwatch didn't care about his feelings

he(Aprilla) might be really excited to see Mr Moss & Williams in real... ahhh, the rider (Aprilia) and his buddies are new to the area and first time experiencing how a motorcycle works after set up (suspension) as for the Aprilla rider, I guess the new motorcyclist and how he was battered up with a bad setup got his brain fuddled to understand simple instruction "Test Ride the setup" also, It was awesome to see Mr Moss revise (test ride) with clear detailed directions :)

If I use ~100mm of 130mm front suspension travel on my 2020 mt03 while normal riding in and aroud town - nothing crazy just normal commuting slightly above speed limit - does it mean I need to do something with forks? Isnt 100mm too much? And I am not fat, only 60kg...

How the geometry of my 2021 Tracer 9 GT will change when i put a 180/60 rear tyre (instead of 180/55 stock)? And how will affect (fast turning? less stable on top speed? smaller caster angle?) my ride?

I found it was a positive for geometry and for handling f the forks are kept in the stock position.
